Story
Tina is a sweet, gentle, and playful dog around 2 years old and weighing 11 pounds. She is a very shy, unique looking Dachshund, Pug, and Chihuahua mix who is in need of a forever home where she can feel safe and loved once again. Tina has had it rough, as it looks like she has suffered some abuse and was left outside Front Street Shelter parking lot when they were closed. She spent over a month in the shelter before being taken into Little Paws, but because of her experience she has been very wary of people. With patience and kindness however, she has begun to trust again and it has been wonderful to see her grow in confidence. Tina is a loyal and loving dog who just needs someone to give her a chance. She is active and would be a great companion for someone who can give her the attention and care she needs, helping her to trust again and providing her with a safe environment to thrive. She would benefit from a patient owner who can help build up her confidence and she will be the most loving, sweet and loyal dog in return. Despite her shyness, Tina has a wonderful playful side and loves to steal socks and shoes, (though she doesn't eat them)! She also loves toys and she hasn't met a toy she doesn't love! She has the adorable, cute floppy ears, along with the long body and the tail of a dachshund with a curl in it, the head of a Chihuahua and the crunched face and wrinkles of a pug! Tina loves using the doggy door and is great with steps or ramps. She would benefit from dog training and obstacle course training as this would really help to boost her self-esteem. We can see her being great at agility in the future! She is housebroken, pee pad trained, crate trained, microchipped, vaccinated and spayed. She is good with other dogs but we are not sure about cats. Her adoption fee is $700. If you think you could be Tina's special person to give her the home she deserves, or you have any questions, please go to littlepawsdoggierescue.org and fill out an adoption questionnaire. Thank you.

Story
Baker is an active, 9-pound, long-haired Dachshund mix puppy of 5.5 months, with beautiful brown and beige coloring. His coat is slightly coarse but soft and shiny. He will be a great dog for anyone, especially if you don't want grooming bills. Baker is somewhat sight-impaired. He has cloudy eyes but seems to be able to see well enough to run all around the yard and house without bumping into things. He does have some sight but is limited in his ability to observe details. He seems to be dealing with it just fine. It's possible that his sight may get worse eventually; we don't know. Blind dogs are not hard to care for and can learn everything most dogs can learn. They just depend more on scent and hearing and an understanding owner. Once they memorize furniture placement, doors, steps and where their food is, they behave pretty much like sighted dogs. Baker is smart and active, a great cuddler, jumps up on the couch for loves, enjoys running around when taken outside, plays with toys and other dogs, and alerts to strangers. He is doing well with potty training, and his foster mom will be training him to use the doggie door when he shows he understands outside potty. He's only been in rescue for a week or so and we haven't leash tested him yet. He is cooperative but cautious when called to come. He is fitting in well in his foster home. Baker is healthy, eats well, loves large beef bones, is well-muscled, well proportioned, not terribly long bodied for a doxy (which is good for his spine); maybe that's because he is a mix of some sort. He is not neutered yet, and the adopter will be contractually responsible for this procedure when he is old enough. Baker is a total love bug and will make a great companion for any family with gentle hands and voices, and the patience to train a puppy. He is still very young and very active, and not recommended for seniors as he tends to walk underfoot and could be a trip hazard. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Baker, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.

Story
Yodi is four years old born in 2020. I'm not sure what breeds he mixed with. He has a long body and short legs and weighs 12 lbs, He has had two rescues in less then a year. The first rescue was when a witness saw him being beaten. Witness was able to get him to the vet for emergency care. Yodi has scars on his face and butt, but he wiggles with happiness. Yodi is forgiving of humans as dogs usually are. After his medical care he lived with another woman and her many dogs a short time until she passed away. Yodi is very happy boy who likes attention. He loves his belly rubbed. He is a couch dog who wants to sit on you or next to you. He snuggles his head under your chin for hugs. He does like to play with stuffed toys. He's happy to be picked up. I think he will be a great family dog who wants a companion. He is OK with other dogs and is pretty good with cats. He is living in a foster home that is a cat rescue also. He is fine with the cats as long as they don't try to snuggle on his face. He walks the house with the cats and pretty much ignores them. He loves small stuffed dog toys. He plays fetch. Yodi will make a great companion who wants company to watch tv with and a sleeping buddy.

Story
George came into us from another rescue. One of their advocates was able to rescue him on the street and take care of all of the medical to get him healthy. But they found that he was extremely fearful and they did not have the proper situation for him to try to work through his fear. He came to our rescue in the middle of May 2023. He is terrified of being touched. We are not sure if it was caused by abuse or if he's never experienced human touch. After working with him it's very clear that he would love to be loved he is just unsure how to proceed. He will need an adult who is patience and understanding with him but also confident enough to give him direction so that he can feel supported while working through his fears. A home with no children is recommended and he does really well with small confident and kind dogs.

Story
Meet Black Jack (Blackie)❤️‍🔥🐾 Blackie is a long haired Dachshund mix (maybe Australian Shepherd). He is estimated to be about 7yrs old, 15lbs. Blackie was surrendered to the shelter by his elderly owners who were keeping him in the backyard because they were scared they would trip on him in the house. Blackie starts off by being shy and timid, but when he warms up Blackie is loving, gentle, and loves to be brushed. Matter of fact, Blackie thrives on the love and care that comes with brushing. Another way to win Blackie over is with treats, he loves them!! It will take a calm, quiet environment for Blackie to blossom into the sweet dog he is. Blackie would be great for a single person or family with older kids, who want a mellow companion. Blackie does not know how to walk on a leash and frankly once he trusts you and you become his person/people, Blackie will follow you anywhere. Blackie gets along with cats and mellow dogs.Blackie is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date on his rabies vaccine. If you are interested in meeting Blackie, please fill out an application at www.broketailrescue.org, located under the contact tab.

Story
I am a new arrival to Kimie's Kritters and am a young and active gentleman. I love playing with other dogs and seem to get along well with others. I have not been cat-tested but Kimie thinks I would do well with them. Due to my energy level, Kimie thinks I would do best in a home with a fenced yard.

These pups are in Woodland, California too!

Story
****** COURTESY POST - THE DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER******** Daisy is a lovely dog, I believe she is loving and caring unfortunately the problem is that she is scared of everything. I have another dog who pee’s randomly when she is stressed or scared and she stays in a corner most of the time and does not get along with my other blue heeler. She needs a home where she is the only pet she also overeats and starves and I think my other blue heeler and her have had an impact this week where they do not get along she needs a home where she is only paid attention to. Email kendrymolina@yahoo.com to learn more.    All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
