She's the best dog ever! • She rides so well that if you open the car door she gets in by herself, and she doesn't get car sick at all. * The first step is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Santana is ready for her furever home We rescued mama Santana and her babies from Riverside shelter back in May. She gave birth to puppies in the shelter, but only two survived. Her babies are now 5 months old and happy and healthy (available for adoption too), so now it’s time to find mama the home she deserves. Santana is the sweetest little girl. She is small, just over 10 pounds, but still loves her long walks. We don't know her mix, but our best guess would be some kind of Dachshund mix... She is super cuddly once comfortable, but does take a little while to warm up. She loves other dogs and has lived with cats and done well, too. She is learning how much fun toys and bones are and is coming out of her shell more and more everyday. She will thrive with a patient person looking for an affectionate little lap dog who still loves being active and doing things. Raffi was living a lonely life on the streets and was so scared when he was rescued by Hope For Paws Rescue. They chased him for quite some time before they were finally able to catch him. We teamed up with Hope For Paws to help find Raffi his forever home. Raffi is shy with people he does not know but warms up once he gets to know you and feels safe. It does take him time to come out of his shell so he will need someone who is patient. He has limited hearing but he can hear louder sounds. He will need an experienced owner as he needs guidance and someone to build his confidence. Raffi loves other dogs and he will need a home with another confident dog that he can watch and learn from. He is good with cats too. He will need a calm household where he is not left for long hours and no young children but calm older children are okay. Raffi loves to go on walks and rides well in the car. Raffi is about 8-9 years old and weighs 9 pounds. In September 2021, Raffi was diagnosed with a mild heart murmur caused by early stage mitral valve disease. He was seen by a cardiologist in late September 2021 and again in for a recheck in June 2022 where he got an echocardiogram. He does not need any medication or treatment at this time but will need annual check-ups with a cardiologist to monitor his heart. Raffi is also fully vetted: neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, flea/heartworm treated. And Raffi just had a full vet exam, senior blood panel with thyroid test, urinalysis, heartworm test, fecal test, dental cleaning, mouth x-rays and chest x-rays in September 2022 so he should not need any vetting at this time. If you are serious about adopting Raffi and have a vet near you willing to work with our rescue, we will cover his vetting and cardiology. Or you can take him to our vet in the Los Angeles area for his vetting and cardiology needs.

Meet Trio! Trio is a sweet boy, 4 years old, weighing about 11 lbs. Trio is a dachshund and chihuahua mix. At one time in Trio's life, he was attacked by a big dog and had to have his right rear leg amputated but that hasn't slowed him down one bit. He runs circles at high speed in the yard playing with the other foster dogs at his foster home. He does get along with other dogs. He loves walks and going for rides in the car.
