ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Introducing Brioche!  This sweet little nugget cannot wait to meet her forever family.  Born in early June of 2024, this tiny dachshund/chihuahua mix is just over 8 lbs. of love and joy.  She is a playful puppy who loves to snuggle and keeps herself warm under covers, on your lap, or nestled up with other dogs in the home. She warms up to new people immediately. While she is still growing, she will always be a small pup who happily joins adventures out and about. She doesn’t require long walks but does enjoy being out in the sunshine. Brioche is a bit fearful of young children and their energy so we would reccommend that she be adopted to a home without young children. Brioche is a puppy and is working on potty training and consistently uses potty pads inside while learning. She sleeps through the night but needs to go out immediately when she wakes up    Brioche will need a home with other pups to keep her company, and one where she is not left alone for long periods of time until she grows a little bit and feels more confident.  Her adoption fee is $350.  A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  December 15, 2024, 7:05 pm

This adorable little baja mutt has such a great personality! She is a young adult who is under 20 pounds and her body resembles that of a doxy so we think she is a chiwennie mix. She was rescued off the streets of Baja along with her 7 young pups. They all had mange and as soon as their treatment was done the pups have found homes and now all that is left of this adorable low rider family is mama Frankie. She is an absolute sweetheart. A greatful beautiful soul who is loving, nobel and just a great companion who will bring you smiles.  We believe this girl was likely chained up or used to chewing on wire/metal as her incisor teeth both upper and lower are fairly worn down. She is crate and house trained and is great with dogs, cats and children. Perfect for first time dog owners and we would love to find a foster or adopter for her. She is currently staying at casa de arwob along with other foster dogs and cats.  To meet this cutie please submit an application online at ARWOB.org to schedule a meet and greet TODAY!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shane is with us because his owner passed away. It took Shane a while to warm up to us as he was traumatized upon arrival. Now he enjoys being massaged and shows gratitude by wagging his tail. He’s not a big snuggle guy because of his medium length hair so he will need grooming. He has bonded with a chihuahua in the home so he capable of making dog friends. In fact, he does whatever his little chi pal does. It’s very cute. Shane is a tad overweight so we’re careful not to over feed him. He weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds. Shane would look and feel better at a reasonable weight of 12 to 15 pounds. He likes walks and is a walking pro at fiesta island (our local dog park). He even gets his paws wet in the bay. This summer I expect a full submerge. This little man has come a long way and seeks a person understands him and will allow him the time he needs to accumulate to a new environment. Shane will make a good walking partner and add loving waggs and warmth to your home. call for an appointment to meet Mr. Shane in person 858-442-6585    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    October 25, 2024, 12:14 am

Meet Gemma! This sweet pup was found wandering the streets, disoriented and alone for days. Despite many people sharing posts about her, no one came forward to claim her. Rumor has it she was abandoned along with two other dogs. When we found her by a trash can, she looked heartbroken and defeatToday, Gemma is thriving and full of life! We think she’s a mix of Dachshund, Border Collie, and perhaps a few other mystery breeds. She’s brimming with love, a touch of sass, and a whole lot of personality! Gemma would be a wonderful addition to any family or a loyal companion for someone looking for a best friend. She loves the company of other dogs and we hope to find her a home with a buddy.

Story
*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Wilton! Wilton was adopted from the San Diego Humane Society in October 2024 by a first-time dog owner who has made the difficult decision to rehome him. They hope to find a loving family better suited to meet Wilton's needs. While he is a loving companion, Wilton has some reactivity issues that require an experienced owner who can dedicate the time and resources to help him blossom into a more confident, well-balanced pup. About Wilton: Wilton is a sweet and affectionate dog who is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows basic commands. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is very affectionate and loving to his person, and he does great just chilling in the house, whether they are at home or away. Wilton enjoys playing with toys for short periods, especially in the morning. Wilton's challenges: Wilton needs a patient who has experience with fearful dogs that have resource guarding tendencies. He is fearful towards people other than his current guardian, and that has resulted in minor biting incidents (skin not broken) in the home he has been in since October. He does not show this aggression towards his current guardian, and they can take away food or toys with no issue. Wilton is also fearful of other dogs, both in his home and those he encounters outdoors. If he sees dogs while on walks, he will whimper and bark. What Wilton needs: Wilton is a dog so eager to love and be loved. He is deserving of a home where he can feel safe, secure, and loved. With the right training and a dedicated family, Wilton has the potential to be an amazing companion. If you're an experienced dog owner ready to take on the rewarding challenge of helping Winton become a more confident, well-balanced dog, please text or call Marci at (619)929-0802. *Frosted Faces Foundation has not assessed this dog medically or behaviorally.*

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever home wanted!!!!  Meet Zucki the Puppy!!!! Zucki (short for Zucchini lol) recently found himself as a stray at a local shelter. Sadly his family never came for him and he like all dogs in shelters today became at risk solely due to the shelter’s space needs. That is all behind him now as Zucki is safe with us and rocking his foster home.  Zucki is an active, smart 7 month old mix in the 30 pound range. We are not sure what breed he is.  The shelter said Basset Hound but we see some doxie in there so we went with both, this is what we call a Heinz’s 57 mix breed dog and they are the Best!.  Zucki gets along with people and dogs alike and just wants to be everyone’s friend.  He's a happy, healthy , energetic puppy that already knows how to use a crate and sleep through the night.  Zucki is looking for a family that is committed to training and socialization to help him become the best dog possible.  If Zucki sounds like the right dog for your family email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Zucki is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 9, 2024, 2:46 pm

Story
Looking for a silly, outgoing, spunky and fun-loving Basset Hound and Boston Terrier mix to brighten your days? Then Heron may just be your guy! Heron originally came to us from a shelter in San Bernardino County, and he quickly made fast friends with everyone both two and four legged. His favorite pastimes at TBL include roaming the play yard with his buddies, playing fetch, going on weekend hikes with volunteers, and just being a ham for attention. You only need to meet him to know that this playful dude has a happy-go-lucky outlook on life and nothing will bring him down. Given his energy and tenacity, he would do best with an experienced owner that can keep him grounded and help set boundaries. Heron loves to give you kisses – whether your hands, arms, or face, he is not picky! He comes equipped with adorably squat legs, classic black and white coloring, constantly wagging tail, big inquisitive brown eyes, and happy smiling face. To those who know him well, and those he has established trust with, he is a very sweet, jolly, and obedient boy. Heron weighs around 30 pounds, a great size for most types of living situations. He is about 9 and a half years young (estimated DOB December 2011) but can still keep up with the best of them on long hikes and outdoor adventures. If Heron sounds like the perfect pup you have been looking for, come see if he is a match for you!If you'd like to meet Heron, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Story
Our Roger, is just a love bug:) he is a calm puppy, and loves to laid down on his bed and just give you a look with so much love of gratitude for giving him a safe and loving place to be fostered. :) he will be great with any family that will give him the time to get him out to be a busy body:) such as running, hiking, and he can even be with a laid back family as well. He has these gorgeous hazel eyes kind of green:) and we love his long ears:) A little more of his background: There were 7 total, 1 male has been adopted (Oreo) but we still have 6 boys and 1 girl left. They all have wonderful markings, of mixed breeds such as : Beagle, Bassett Hound, Labrador Retriever, Cattle- as dogs can have 7 different fathers. There are almost 4 1/2 months old now. Mama Mika is for adoption as well - however, she is a special needs dog. She was so abused that they damaged her eye and she lost it. Therefore, we had to perform surgery on her eye and removed to prevent future infections. She is very shy and so afraid of people. It will take that special angel who will have the patience with her to make her blossom again. She is coming along every day, and getting better but very slowly. She used to run from us - we left the food for her to eat and walk away. When we rescued her, she used to stuffed her mouth with food and run to the her puppies to throw up so they can eat. This is the situation when we found them up on a land-field hill sleeping inside tubes; they were about 2 months old and not getting enough food from mama so she will do this and throw up so they will eat. They had never seen people before, the poor little things were so scared. Now they are gorgeous beautiful healthy puppies waiting for their forever home. Mika is a wonderful mama who cared for the 7 of them - she is the example as how animals are just so wonderful in all ways -:) They have received all their 3 main core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Please open your home and hearts to these bundle of cuties:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? If so, Please text us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . If approved, the adoption coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a Meet-and-Greet appointment. No appointments will be made unless we have received an application; therefore, we can match you with the best fit for you. Follow us on Instagram @aaofus where you can see more pics. Please allow 48 hours to process applications and respond back to set up appointments. Unfortunately, responses back to those who do not qualify are not possible due to high volume of applications. Donation Adoption fee includes up-to-date their 3 core puppy DHLPP vaccinations, spaying or neutering, deworming, flea medication, and a complementary health check up by a participating clinic near you. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!! ADOPT A RESCUED HOMELESS PET AND SAVE A LIFE!! #adoptme #puppySanDiego #rescuedpuppy #Bassethoundbeaglerescuedpuppy #labradormixedrescuedpuppy
