You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.  If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.   Meet Frankie! This adorable little baja mutt has such a great personality! She is a young adult who is under 20 pounds and her body resembles that of a doxy so we think she is a chiwennie mix. She was rescued off the streets of Baja along with her 7 young pups. They all had mange and as soon as their treatment was done the pups have found homes and now all that is left of this adorable low rider family is mama Frankie. She is an absolute sweetheart. A greatful beautiful soul who is loving, nobel and just a great companion who will bring you smiles.  We believe this girl was likely chained up or used to chewing on wire/metal as her incisor teeth both upper and lower are fairly worn down. She is crate and house trained and is great with dogs, cats and children. Perfect for first time dog owners and we would love to find a foster or adopter for her. She is currently staying at casa de arwob along with other foster dogs and cats.  To meet this cutie please submit an application online at ARWOB.org to schedule a meet and greet TODAY!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Shane is with us because his owner passed away. It took Shane a while to warm up to us as he was traumatized upon arrival. Now he enjoys being massaged and shows gratitude by wagging his tail. He’s not a big snuggle guy because of his medium length hair so he will need grooming. He has bonded with a chihuahua in the home so he capable of making dog friends. In fact, he does whatever his little chi pal does. It’s very cute. Shane is a tad overweight so we’re careful not to over feed him. He weighs in at a whopping 19 pounds. Shane would look and feel better at a reasonable weight of 12 to 15 pounds. He likes walks and is a walking pro at fiesta island (our local dog park). He even gets his paws wet in the bay. This summer I expect a full submerge. This little man has come a long way and seeks a person understands him and will allow him the time he needs to accumulate to a new environment. Shane will make a good walking partner and add loving waggs and warmth to your home. call for an appointment to meet Mr. Shane in person 858-442-6585    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    October 25, 2024, 12:14 am

Story
Come and meet me at our adoption event this Saturday 04/09 from 4 pm to 6 pm at PetSmart in Clairemont, San Diego: 4253 Genesee Ave, San Diego, CA 92117 ***Please read all the way down to the bottom so you can learn all about our sweet pet and about the requirements as well as the organization*** Hi !! meet Chico, a 6 month old sweet puppy who will remain small under 20 lbs. He is currently about 17 pounds, and have reached his 80% growth:) He has a cute combination of Dachshund, Corgi, Labrador, Chihuahua:) He has a cute long body shape with short strong legs:) and such cute huge ears:) "Chico" is a sweet soul. He will happily give kisses and loves to play tug of war. He has a good energy level for running around inside or outside if playing with kids; but will also lay down with you for a calm nap. He’s very polite when meeting new people. He’s house trained and learned the best place to go potty very quickly. He picks up commands easily especially when there’s a treat involved. Overall, he is a cuddly dog who would make any family very happy. He has been around kids, dogs, and cats. However, he is to be introduced slowly to some dogs - once he is getting to know the other dogs, he will be fine- with some dogs, he can connect right away. If you are ready for this commitment and open your heart to any of our adorable pups, please don't wait no longer. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! *****A minute of conscious - Please read:) ***** We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Meet Gemma! This sweet pup was found wandering the streets, disoriented and alone for days. Despite many people sharing posts about her, no one came forward to claim her. Rumor has it she was abandoned along with two other dogs. When we found her by a trash can, she looked heartbroken and defeated.Today, Gemma is thriving and full of life! We think she’s a mix of Dachshund, Border Collie, and perhaps a few other mystery breeds. She’s brimming with love, a touch of sass, and a whole lot of personality! Gemma would be a wonderful addition to any family or a loyal companion for someone looking for a best friend.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forever home wanted!!!!  Meet Zucki the Puppy!!!! Zucki (short for Zucchini lol) recently found himself as a stray at a local shelter. Sadly his family never came for him and he like all dogs in shelters today became at risk solely due to the shelter’s space needs. That is all behind him now as Zucki is safe with us and rocking his foster home.  Zucki is an active, smart 7 month old mix in the 30 pound range. We are not sure what breed he is.  The shelter said Basset Hound but we see some doxie in there so we went with both, this is what we call a Heinz’s 57 mix breed dog and they are the Best!.  Zucki gets along with people and dogs alike and just wants to be everyone’s friend.  He's a happy, healthy , energetic puppy that already knows how to use a crate and sleep through the night.  Zucki is looking for a family that is committed to training and socialization to help him become the best dog possible.  If Zucki sounds like the right dog for your family email dogs@labradorsandfriends.org or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org  Zucki is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 4:11 pm

Story
Looking for a silly, outgoing, spunky and fun-loving Basset Hound and Boston Terrier mix to brighten your days? Then Heron may just be your guy! Heron originally came to us from a shelter in San Bernardino County, and he quickly made fast friends with everyone both two and four legged. His favorite pastimes at TBL include roaming the play yard with his buddies, playing fetch, going on weekend hikes with volunteers, and just being a ham for attention. You only need to meet him to know that this playful dude has a happy-go-lucky outlook on life and nothing will bring him down. Given his energy and tenacity, he would do best with an experienced owner that can keep him grounded and help set boundaries. Heron loves to give you kisses – whether your hands, arms, or face, he is not picky! He comes equipped with adorably squat legs, classic black and white coloring, constantly wagging tail, big inquisitive brown eyes, and happy smiling face. To those who know him well, and those he has established trust with, he is a very sweet, jolly, and obedient boy. Heron weighs around 30 pounds, a great size for most types of living situations. He is about 9 and a half years young (estimated DOB December 2011) but can still keep up with the best of them on long hikes and outdoor adventures. If Heron sounds like the perfect pup you have been looking for, come see if he is a match for you!If you'd like to meet Heron, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below.
