Story
Hello, I`m Frankie! I`m a seasoned gal, and I`ve learned to appreciate the simple things in life. I like making new friends, and I`m always ready to give a wagging tail hello to everyone I meet. I`m mellow too, content with a quiet afternoon nap or a leisurely stroll. I`m brave, unafraid of new experiences, and gentle, always treating my friends with kindness. I`ve got a lot of love to give, and I`m hoping to share it with a family who appreciates a senior lady`s wisdom and grace. My sweet friend Bayla relies on me to help her feel confident and secure. We share a special bond, so we are required to start our journey in a new home together. We may do well with other dogs in our new home after a slow introduction. Bayla can be shy in new spaces, so our friends at the shelter recommend that any children in our new home are age 10 or older so they can understand her needs.Adoption Price: $1 + $250* Perfect Pair with Bayla 57858487

Story
Yodi is four years old born in 2020. I'm not sure what breeds he mixed with. He has a long body and short legs and weighs 12 lbs, He has had two rescues in less then a year. The first rescue was when a witness saw him being beaten. Witness was able to get him to the vet for emergency care. Yodi has scars on his face and butt, but he wiggles with happiness. Yodi is forgiving of humans as dogs usually are. After his medical care he lived with another woman and her many dogs a short time until she passed away. Yodi is very happy boy who likes attention. He loves his belly rubbed. He is a couch dog who wants to sit on you or next to you. He snuggles his head under your chin for hugs. He does like to play with stuffed toys. He's happy to be picked up. I think he will be a great family dog who wants a companion. He is OK with other dogs and is pretty good with cats. He is living in a foster home that is a cat rescue also. He is fine with the cats as long as they don't try to snuggle on his face. He walks the house with the cats and pretty much ignores them. He loves small stuffed dog toys. He plays fetch. Yodi will make a great companion who wants company to watch tv with and a sleeping buddy.

Story
George came into us from another rescue. One of their advocates was able to rescue him on the street and take care of all of the medical to get him healthy. But they found that he was extremely fearful and they did not have the proper situation for him to try to work through his fear. He came to our rescue in the middle of May 2023. He is terrified of being touched. We are not sure if it was caused by abuse or if he's never experienced human touch. After working with him it's very clear that he would love to be loved he is just unsure how to proceed. He will need an adult who is patience and understanding with him but also confident enough to give him direction so that he can feel supported while working through his fears. A home with no children is recommended and he does really well with small confident and kind dogs.

Story
Alex is the cutest little sausage dog! Alex is estimated to be around 8 years old and is a sweet and sensitive guy looking for his fur-ever home. Alex is a mellow guy who enjoys the simple things in life like being cozy in front of the fireplace and eating tasty treats. He can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he never wants to leave your side. Alex currently weighs about 12lbs. Alex came to us from a local shelter after his previous owner surrendered him with his buddy Bruno. We were told it was due to issues with the landlord. At first, we thought the boys were a bonded pair, but as we got to know them more, they seemed like they would be okay being separated. Bruno has been adopted, so now it's Alex's turn! Alex is the more outgoing of the two but is the more anxious one. While his buddy learned to enjoy walks, Alex is more of a stay-at-home type of guy. He has learned to be more comfortable being outside, but would much rather be inside and cozy if given the choice. He loves to cuddle and give kisses but is also able to chill on the couch while you get work done. He would make a great companion for a senior person or couple. He would thrive in a quiet home with people who can be patient with him and help him gain more confidence. Alex has done well living with other dogs and seems like he would enjoy having a mellow doggie buddy or buddies. Alex has done well living with cats and is great about ignoring them and giving them space. Alex previously lived with kids, but we think he would probably do best in an adult-only home due to his anxious personality. Alex's previous owner said he and Bruno were pee pad trained, but he has been doing well transitioning to pottying outside. Alex likely would do best in a home with a yard, maybe with a dog door, to make the transition to a new routine easier. Alex is used to being crated when his foster mom is gone and he sleeps through the night in his dog bed. Alex is so ready for a fresh start with his fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Alex's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. February 4, 2025, 1:40 pm

Story
To apply or see more of Ben, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/5/5/ben-1 Ben was rescued from a hoarding case in Modesto, where he lived with 86 other dogs. He is decompressing and is now ready to find a home, preferably with a dog friend or two! He also currently lives with a cat. A home with an enclosed yard would be ideal for Ben, but not necessarily required. He loves basking in the sun. From Ben’s previous foster: Ben has been opening up every day. He is now asking for pets and wanting to be close to cuddle. He is working on being comfortable when the humans are away but does well sleeping in his crate with a human or dog in the room. He does well with a kong as well. He is getting playful and allows full-body touch, but he doesn't love to be held just yet. However, he is comfortable being held with a blanket! Ben is an 18 lb dachshund mix (best guess) and described as sweet, affectionate, and playful, but may need some time to adjust to new environments due to his past experiences. Sponsored adoption donation (no fee!) includes neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordatella, flea tick treated, fecal tested/dewormed, and microchipped Currently in foster in San Francisco, CA. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more!
