When Frank arrived here, he was partially paralyzed. Unfortunately, after we took him to the vet, it was determined there were no surgical options that could help him. Since then, he has been on a special diet to get his weight down. He is also taking a daily medication to help him, and we are so happy to report it is really working. You can see more videos of this special-needs cutie on our Instagram page @thebrittanyfoundation. Because we require visits here to our rescue and home checks, adoptions are limited to the Los Angeles, Ca area.

HELLO DOLLY. Yes hello! This ADORABLE senior gal was dropped off at the shelter by her former people who thought she was "too old." Hardly! This spry, charming 12ish year year old Doxie mix pup LOVES her walks, and cannot get enough cuddles. A faithful friend, Dolly likes other dogs, is in foster with one at present, and genuinely has not met anyone she didn't think was swell. She is an optimist with a gem heart, and the perfect fit if you are looking for someone to join you on your evening strolls, or to sit at your side while you navigate a book, or binge watch a favorite show. Story
For those who are up to a challenge, we are looking for an experienced foster/adopter who can help Hopper. Hopper is a special little guy who needs someone who can work with him and his issues. He has triggers that have lead to bites. He needs help working with someone who knows how to retrain his brain. Hopper is a quirky little guy who does love people, especially when they understand his quirks. Hopper is trustful of the person who cares for him and loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. He needs a person to understand his boundaries and that he gives love on his terms. He loves to run at full speed into rooms to greet everyone there. He is very food motivated. He does not like to be picked up and has a dislike of harnesses. He's getting better with allowing harnesses but needs more work on being desensitized to them. He needs someone who understands and accepts that he does not like being picked up, which is not really necessary. He's learned to use stairs to get up on the couch to sit next to you. At night, he's good in a kennel or on a dog bed. Hopper is good with other dogs who are his size. He's not too welcoming of bigger dogs but tolerates them to a point. He can be food protective so no trying to take away his bowl once he's eating (who would do that anyway?). Hopper is neutered, vaccinated and house trained (might mark in the beginning like most male dogs do). Please contact us if you can help Hopper.
