Story
Looks like: Dachshund/Chihuahua mix Male, 13 years old (estimated), 13 pounds Pepi is a happy, mostly confident little guy who's very favorite pastime is napping, closely followed by frolics in the yard or at the park, interspersed with plenty of pets and hind-quarter scratches. Although this little dude is vision-impaired, he walks well on leash, taking it slow and easy. He gets along well with other dogs that he meets at the park, mainly by ignoring them after the initial sniff test. When meeting new people, including children, he can be a little shy at first, but is always sweet and friendly. We don't know yet how he behaves around cats. At his foster home, he does not mind being home alone, but he also loves being out and about, eagerly hopping into the car, politely sharing the back seat with fellow canines as they all know it is time to head to the park. Pepi is hoping to find a quiet, loving household either with or without another dog. Due to his vision impairment, he can be cautious in new places and needs to be carried up and down flights of stairs. His ideal human would be a shuttle driver to the park, timely server of breakfast and dinner, massage therapist for cuddles and attention, room service personnel for fluffing up his cozy bed, and a generous treat dispenser. This sweet senior lad came to us from a shelter in Sacramento where he was on the red list for euthanasia.

Story
Looks like: Chiweenie Male, 8 years old (estimated), 9 pounds Bradley is a little guy with a big heart, but it does take him a little while to warm up to new people. He has nipped at people he does not know when stressed. Once he warms up to you and feels safe, he is all in and loves a good snuggle. If you've had a shier dog in the past, you probably know the kind of patience it takes to win over a dog like Bradley. And that it is totally worth the loyal devotion that follows. Bradley loves to nap in the warm sun, curl up in fuzzy blankets, and seek out the coziest spots in the house to unwind. When he's not indulging in relaxation, he enjoys playing fetch with his human, although he's still mastering the art of letting go when it's time to return the ball. He has a beloved stuffed toy named Lambie, which he loves to carry around, and he won't go to bed until he's tucked Lambie in too. His playful spirit and appreciation for comfort make him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys the simple pleasures. He can peacefully co-exist with canine siblings who respect his space, but he doesn't have any experience with cats. Because of his shy nature, his ideal home would be a quiet place without young children. This sweet boy joined us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after he was picked up as a stray. He was overwhelmed by the environment at the shelter and was not doing well. We were happy to welcome him into the program and offer him a soft landing spot.

Story
Looks like: Dachshund/Papillon mix Male, 10 years old (estimated), 13 pounds Bourbon is ready to join you not only for happy hour but on your next adventure as well! He gets along well with other dogs and loves scratches from his people. He came into the shelter underweight but has been putting on some healthy pounds. Bourbon loves going for walks and is known to really bond with his person once he gets to know them. This polite and friendly guy loves to snuggle with his person and sunbathe outside whenever he can. He would love to find a mellow home where he can continue to blossom and become his best self. Bourbon joined us from the Sacramento County Bradshaw Shelter.
