After spending a few weeks wandering the streets as a stray, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan brought him to safety and did everything possible to locate his owner. Sadly, no one came forward—so now Wally is starting a brand-new chapter. Wally is an affectionate boy who truly loves his people. He forms strong bonds and can be a little protective of those he cares about most, making him a loyal companion. He does have a strong Dachshund personality, so he is looking for an experienced owner. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playtime with his canine friends. Wally would do best in a home without cats or small children, where he can feel secure and relaxed. He is crate trained and settles in nicely, especially when he knows he’s safe. This charming little guy is ready to hang up his backpack and running shoes and settle into the forever home he deserves. All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.

His family loved him but realized they didn’t have the time a young dog needs, so they began searching for a rescue to help him find the right home. Wilbur was in Mexico and needed veterinary care, and a wonderful foundation reached out to us to see if we could take him in. We happily said yes! Wilbur has now received the care he needed and is healthy, happy, and ready for his forever family. True to his breed, Wilbur is a typical hound—always cheerful and not shy about vocalizing his feelings. He loves to “talk” and will happily let you know what’s on his mind. Wilbur adores other dogs and would love a home with a playful canine companion. He also loves people and is a total snuggle bug who enjoys affection and quality time with his humans. Wilbur is an all-around wonderful dog who’s ready to give lots of love. He’s hoping to find an equally wonderful family to call his own.
