Geno is a 2 year old Dachshund / mixed breed pup who joined us recently and is now looking for his forever home. He's a playful guy who loves people, stuffed toys and tug-of-war. He is a very affectionate boy who knows basic commands, and is working with our volunteers on perfecting his leash manners. He is enjoying being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes, and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm, or you may email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meet and greet!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Hello, kind human. My name is Oliver and I am a 9 year old 22lb ChiWeenie. What’s a ChjiWeenie you ask? It’s a wonderful mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund. The kind folks at Forever Loved took me right in from a shelter where I was struggling with all the chaos that goes along with lots and lots of scared and homeless dogs. Right away I was scooped into the loving arms of a foster home and by the end of the first day, I was already starting to blossom.. I’ve had my teeth cleaned and my bloodwork came back great, so I can definitely tell you I am a healthy guy. I’m great with other dogs, however I can be wary of strangers. I am a protective sort over my property, but the wonderful folks at Forever Loved have lots of tips for how to help me get over that and be a safe dog. Speaking of that, the volunteer trainer at Forever Loved thinks I’m a great prospect, and that I will make someone a lovely companion. I’m also a favorite with a lot of the shelter team. I love love love to go for walks and sniffaris, I ride nicely in the car, and I am reliably house trained! Maybe I don’t want to meet strangers on the street, or have too many visitors come in the house, but I’ve shown I’m very motivated to work on it. With the right human, I’m going to prove myself to be an outstanding companion. Could that be you? Fill out an application and we can begin this journey together!
