Story
The minute we heard this handsome girl's name, we thought right away of Robin Hood. Remember him? He robbed the rich to feed the poor. Well, Loxley is where he lived in England. (Interestingly it's also the name of a city in Alabama.) Our Loxley, a girl, lives with her foster right now; a Chiweenie mix, she's 2 to 3 years old and weighs just 18 pounds. She sports a short coat of black and tan, and is oh, so pretty! She does well with other dogs, kids and her foster's cat, too. This fine girl will give you the riches of a great addition to your family. You might even be tempted to call her Robin Hood! (posted 12/4/24, TN) **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.December 4, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Meet sisters Nebula and Solstice! They are 4-month-old Dachshund and Terrier mixes. They now weigh around 7 pounds, but we expect them to mature to around 10-15 pounds. These pups both sport a short black and white coat. Nebula and Solstice are very sweet and get along wonderfully with other dogs. They are the best of both worlds! They love to play and explore new surroundings, but at the end of the day, their favorite thing to do is to cuddle up next to you. Nebula and Solstice both love being held like a baby on their back to nap and would give anything to be picked up to snuggle! Adopt one, or both of these (!) sweethearts, and let them fill your life with love and laughter! Story
Blacky is a sweet shy boy at first. He is playful and warms up once he knows you are someone he can trust. Would make a great running buddy. He comes from the same horrible hoarder situation and had to fight for food so he is still reactive to other dogs at feeding time. We think that he would do best as an only pet or with a female doggie home.

Story
Grey is a very friendly playful young man. Grey would make a wonderful running buddy or agility or for barn hunt competition. This guy loves to run. He was part of the hoarder situation that most of our dogs come from. We think would do fine in an opposite sex dog home with a proper introduction. 2nd Chance Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Non-profit rescue organization. All of our animals come fully vetted which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter as well as Heartworm and flea/tick prevention. We can also arrange transportation to your location within 500 miles of our sanctuary in Hayden, Alabama if necessary. The additional charge of $35 (health certificate required for out of state travel) plus a .50 cents per mile charge to your location. This will be calculated on an individual basis should you need this option and you will be given the total prior to finalization of the adoption process. There is a Non-Refundable $100.00 deposit that will be required in order to secure a place on a transport. The $100.00 deposit will be deducted from the balance owed at the time of the adoption. Deposits and fees can be paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Cash. All balances must be paid in full at the time of the dog's arrival to you. We look forward to helping you find your family's new Baby! Please email Sandra at sshaffer01@bellsouth.net or Cindy at rysha2071@gmail.com with any questions or to request an application Thanks for adopting a rescue!

Onyx is a super friendly puppy active 14 month old. She plays well with other dogs and even dog friendly cats. She is seeking her furever home with a secure fenced yard where she can get her zoomies on each day. Older children may be acceptable but not under 10 years of age due to her small size. She is spayed, on HW and flea prevention and is microchipped. If you think that you might be that special person she is waiting to meet her new family now. Please contact Sandra via email
