Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Figaro is an example of the sad reason that we are in Animal Rescue.  He is a 1 1/2 year old 42 pound Flat Coated Retriever mix who has had a horrible start to his precious life.  It honestly doesn't make sense how sweet, loving and kind Figaro is.   We got a call from a young lady who had a dog at her house that needed immediate help.  Figaro was abused by his owners and then left to die and we do have the police looking for them.  He had a chain collar imbedded under his armpit where his leg got stuck in it and he had a very badly infected wound on his belly about the size of a human's fist.  The worst thing though is that someone cut off his tail!!!  This sick person literally cut his tail off, there was bone sticking out and it was horribly infected.  We are so thankful for the neighbor that called us because he could have died.   Our vet did surgery on Figaro immediately.  He removed the chain, cleaned up his wound on his belly and amputated the remainder of his tail.  He was also neutered and micro chipped while he was under anesthesia.  He did test positive for Lyme disease and is being treated for it. Figaro is the sweetest dog but he was definitely terrified by what he's been through.  He will let you love all over him but he will drop to the ground and submit to you by rolling on his back.  He is not aggressive at all and will make someone the perfect dog.   He has been with other dogs at the vets office but not nose to nose yet.  He only reacted to one dog by barking at him because that dog is a serious goof ball and likes to get every other dog riled up.  We don't know how he will do with cats and would like a home with older kids just so he can remain relaxed.   If you would like to meet Figaro please fill out an application from our website.  Fenced yard required for his safety.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 14, 2024, 8:08 pm
