Story
For inquiries email christina@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $600 Location : Chesapeake, VA   Midnight is a six year-old male Shih Tzu mix. He is very friendly and affectionate. He loves to run and play in the yard. He was a stray and was at the Norfolk shelter. He had severe matting of the hair around his eyes, and he could barely see. The shelter shaved his hair around his eyes and we took him to the eye specialist. He is currently on eyedrops and doing very well. He is vetted and ready to be adopted He will need follow up eye care. Please visit our website www.compactcaninerescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and see other adoptable dogs.

Story
For inquiries email kathyb@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $300 Location: Norfolk, VA Hi friends. I was adopted but returned because I could not get along with the cat! :( Things to consider when applying to adopt Farley: senior shih tzu/mini poodle mix 18-20 pounds VISUALLY IMPAIRED needs a fenced yard NO children - their sudden, unpredictable movements scare him does NOT like to be groomed (may require a shave down under sedation quarterly) he is tolerant of calm, social dog DOES NOT like cats Farley has been with our rescue for a few months now. He is a 20 pound, 10 year old, visually impaired, senior Shih Tzu/Mini-Poodle mix. He gets along well with the resident dogs in the home. He loves attention. Farley's ideal home would be an all adult, quiet home where he can roam a fenced yard to sniff and explore, eat his two meals daily and sleep as he pleases, where he pleases. He LOVES a soft fluffy, calming bed to lounge upon. He is basically looking to retire with his own butler/chambermaid! LOL Farley deserves better than he was given. Will you be his HERO?? **He is not a fan of grooming or nail clipping. **Absolutely NO children. While he is not aggressive towards them, he is visually impaired and does not understand a child's sudden movements. Story
For inquiries email celia@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $400 Location: Silver Spring, MD Noel is new in rescue. She is a retired breeding dog. She is approximately 7 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is ready for her forever home. Noel has started to integrate into the family routine. Shes spending more time outside of the open crate, and she spent a good part of the daytoday in a sunny spot on a blanket soaking up the morning rays. She deserves a well earned retirementafter all those years as a puppy mill breeder. Shes eating great, and is going potty outside regularly. She sleeps very quietly in the crate at night. Shes still skittish around humans and doesnt yet initiate human contact, however shes been wagging her tail when I walk into the room!! If I place her on my lap, she will cuddle upand sleep. Well continue to work on the wonders of GOOD human contact and I anticipate that shell come out of her shell more each day! Things to consider when adopting Noel" retired breeder dog (may be shy for a while) house training is in progress she will need help learning to walk on lead grooming every 4-6 weeks to maintain coat regular bathing (every 1-2 weeks between grooming appointments) will help keep her coat in good condition she will need a slow, patient approach once adopted Please visit our website www.compactcaninerescue.org to learn more about this amazing pet and see other adoptable dogs.
