If you’re looking for a true lap dog, Matt is your perfect match—he wants to be snuggled up with you as much as possible! He adores hugs and close companionship.Energy Level:Low to Moderate – Happy to follow you around and snuggle, but not overly active.Coat & Appearance: Matt has a soft white and beige coat that is wavy and silky soft. When he came to the shelter he was fully matted so they shaved his fur down, but soon enough he will have beautiful fully hair again!Skills and Training:- Adjusting well to his new environment- Doing well with potty training- Great at seeking attention and giving love- Walks well on the lease, will circle around you, but does not stray away from you.Companionship:Matt thrives on human connection. If you want a little shadow who will always be by your side, he’s your perfect match.Love and Affection:He’s all about cuddles, lap time, and hugs—the definition of a true companion dog. He has done well with the other small dogs he has meet so far, and also done well with the resident cats. Big dogs were a little scary to him. Included Veterinary Care:- Veterinary Visit: Complete check-up to ensure he’s healthy- Neutered- Vaccinations: Up to date for his age- Microchipped: For safety and identification- Heartworm Preventative: Regularly given-Flea and Tick Preventative: Keeping him pest-free- Worm/Parasite Treatments: Routine care for overall healthMatt is ready to find a loving home where he can be someone’s constant companion and cuddle buddy. Could that be with you?This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator.
