Story
Julie was acquired in SPCA shelter. Julie is ~5 years old. Julie is a very lovable dog. However, she is very anxious of vaccum cleaners, sink disposals, and other loud noises. She has trouble with other cats, dogs, and little children (because she can be rough). Finally, she does have trouble with grooming. Sedation is best for cutting nails. She does have a nasty bark, but I have a collar that helps control it. I will also provide all things like her food bowl, toys, etc. I got her because I wanted to help her to have a good home because she seemed very scared. From my understanding, she never had a home before me. She has come a long way. She is a tough dog, but a great companion at home and she really needs a good home. I am Ukrainian and want to move back to Ukraine. I can't take care of her anymore. I love her so much, but know I can't bring her with me. I can provide all things like dog bowl and stuff. Just want her to be in a good home.

Story
Turtle now goes by the name 'Jake'. He is a really good dog! He LOVES other dogs and would do best with another playmate or at least frequent doggy playdates. He also loves being outside (fenced in yard ideal). If he could spend all day outside he would. He has been to professional training and can loose leash walk (Heel) and knows the commends 'Come, Sit, Down, Place, No, Off, and Drop It'. He is crate trained and loves sleeping in his crate. Turtle is a big, friendly pup. Please let us know if you would like to meet him! Thank you for your interest in Turtle! Story
I adopted Copper in October of 2024, and I first noticed he was an anxious guy. He loves to cuddle and eat! Although, when you leave him alone he may pee, so I believe that is a sign of anxiety. He also does have a little bit of food aggression. I’m moving, and won’t be able to bring him with me, so I’m hoping to rehome him with someone who has a yard and will be able to commit to him!

George gets along wonderfully with other dogs and adores children, making him a perfect fit for a family or a home with canine companions. This sweet guy is crate trained, up to date on his rabies shot, and ready to start his next chapter. Story
Ruby: A Little Crooked, A Lot PerfectIf you’re looking for a dog who will make your heart melt faster than an ice cream cone in July, meet Ruby, a six-year-old Coonhound with a crooked little smile and a heart of absolute gold.Ruby’s face tells a story - someone hurt her once, likely hitting or kicking her jaw - but Ruby isn’t dwelling on that. No way. She’s got too many sniffs to sniff, people to love, and snacks to investigate. (She is a Hound, after all.)This gentle girl came to us from an overcrowded shelter where her time was nearly up. Now she’s safe, she’s healing, and she’s ready for the next chapter: the one where she finds her forever home.Ruby is calm, kind, and a total pro on leash. She leans in close to show she loves you, and once she decides you’re safe? Her whole face lights up like sunrise. Her crooked little jaw needs simple surgery to help her feel her best, and Animal Aid will cover the cost even after adoption. All Ruby needs is love, a soft bed, and maybe a few treats to seal the deal.Ruby has known fear. She’s known hunger. But now? She’s ready to know joy. Comfort. Belonging. You.Come meet this beautiful soul any day (yes, weekends and holidays too!) between 9am and noon at:Animal Aid Society80 Butler Farm RoadHampton, VAYour gem is waiting.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
