Bernard is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME TODAY!!Look at this happy handsome boy! Bernard was found as a stray in May and came into the shelter while he waits for his forever home. We think he is part coonhound because he LOVES to track scents outside. He would be a great companion to someone that enjoys going out in nature looking for a new adventure buddy. He is well mannered, calm, and had a gentle mouth when taking treats. (Which you can see made him very happy!) He is excited to show you all of his tricks like sit and shake, and hasn't shown to be reactive when passing other dogs. He also loves to snuggle in close for a good neck scratch. Wilson is calm and relaxed in his kennel, but he was a little unsure when he first entered the playgroup. He wasn't too fond of the male dog in the session and seemed a bit hesitant to interact with the other dogs. We're confident that with the right match, he'll feel more comfortable, so we plan to try him again with a more confident, easygoing female. With time and patience, we believe Wilson will open up and enjoy his playtime more.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Sadly we can’t give our sweet Mona the life she deserves now that we’re into our childbearing years. We can’t walk her safely anymore and our home isn’t suitable for a large fenced area. Mona is amazing with our 18 month old but is reactive with other dogs on walks. She’s too strong for me to walk alone while also wearing our baby and it will soon be time for baby number two. She either needs a large fenced yard or someone strong & attentive to walk her. She has ripped the leash of out our hands once. She has had dog friends in the past so I think it would be possible to introduce her to a new pack of other large dogs. She is an A+ snuggler, garbage disposal, and home defense! She is about six years old.
