Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact Pam at 828-606-9209 for more information or to adopt the pet.Sweet Daisy is a 2-yr-old hound, and she is full of love to give!  Unfortunately, Daisy's owner went into hospice Christmas night. The family is seeking a short-term foster or a loving new home for Daisy.Daisy has been living in an apartment and has lots of energy that needs to be released. As you can see from some of her photos, Daisy is not always on the go.  She loves to curl up on a comfy counch or dog bed or snuggle with her human. She likes people and enjoys other dogs to run and play with!  She likes children too, but older ones would be better because of her size and activity level. We would like Daisy to have a home with a fenced-in yard. But someone with outdoor activities would be fun too!  She has had little training and would do best with someone with patience willing to work with her. She has some separation anxiety that is getting better with age and feeling secure in her home. If you would like to meet Daisy in Asheville or have questions, please call or text Pam at 828-606-9209.  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. January 1, 2025, 12:19 am

Story
Lucy is a sweet dog who loves to cuddle and give kisses. We have had her since April and she gets along well with our four year old beagle. Someone dumped a dog at our friends house, which she later discovered was pregnant. She decided to keep the dog and try to find homes for the puppies because there is not a no kill shelter near by. We decided to try to help her out by taking one of the puppies but have come to realize that our schedules are much too busy to give her the attention that she needs.

Story
Walter was given up by his previous family of two weeks. They didn't know how expensive the puppy would be so they had to release him so we agreed to foster him. We have been fostering dogs for 16 years. They previous owner stated he was found on the side of the road with his dead brother. Poor Lil guy has gone through it. He will be up to date on his shots this Thursday. He has been dewormed, is on flea and tick medicine as well as heart worm medicine. He's very sweet. He's eager to learn and wants to please. He is a little skittish. We have other puppies here and older dogs. He wants to play and has no issues with playing and being around other dogs and people. We do not have little kids in the house. But the neighbor kids who have came over, he did well with them. He wants to play tug o war and fetch. He loves chew toys and stuffed animals. He will be great for any type of family. He is chill and loves to play.

Story
Meet Thomas, the lovable Lemon Walker Coonhound! This handsome boy has a striking white and tan coat and is full of personality. He's estimated to be around 5 years old and weighs in at a sturdy 70 pounds. Thomas is a classic hound dog with a heart of gold. He's incredibly sweet and friendly, always eager for a belly rub or a game of fetch. He loves spending time outdoors, whether it's going on walks or simply lounging in the yard. While he has lots of energy, Thomas is also a big softie. He knows basic commands like sit and paw and is always excited to please. Although some foods can upset his stomach, he's currently on a digestive health diet and takes fortiflora daily, which seems to help. Thomas is up-to-date on all his vaccinations, house trained, and crate trained (though he may take a few minutes to settle in). He's great with kids, being gentle and patient despite his size. He's also wonderful with other dogs and cats, making him a great addition to almost any family. Come meet Thomas and discover the joy of having a loyal and loving companion!

Story
I am the goodest boy. I love all people. I love other dogs and cats. I walk good on a leash but I am pretty strong. I’m a hound dog with my nose to the ground but not a hunter. My last people didn’t care about me. They made me hungry all the time and they let me get heartworms. My rescue people love me. They have my heartworms treated and my belly is never empty. I don’t have to be outside in the heat, rain and cold. My angels were sent for me. They tell me my Furever Angel will come along shortly. Until then I’m living the bestest life.
