Story
HI! My name is Buford, and I am from Alabama! Buford is a big, goofy boy who adores people. When he first arrived, he didn’t know much about how to “dog”, but he’s made great strides in the time that he’s been with us. He’s potty trained (on a schedule), can sit and wait, and has no food/toy aggressions. We have a resident dog and cat, and he gets along quite well with both of them. He spends most of the daytime snoozing in a chair or on our sofa, has a burst of energy around his afternoon walk and dinner, and then he’s snoozing again the rest of the evening. He easily goes in his crate and sleeps through the night. He does have some separation anxiety when we leave, but it’s something we’re working on with the help of a trainer. He’s incredibly food motivated and a fast learner so it shouldn’t take too long for him to master it. Buford is such a good dog. His favorite things are chewing on a benebone, laying in the shine, and mealtime. He would love a place that allows him to run, but it isn't absolutely necessary. He would thrive in a home with other pets. He's had a few playdates with other dogs of similar size, and their play-style has been pretty physical (but not aggressive). I don't think he realizes how big he is sometimes, which is why I think he's goofy.
