Story
Henry is a 6 year old male red-tick Coonhound. We adopted him sight unseen a couple of years ago from a foster family, without knowing much about his background. Unfortunately, we do not feel he is comfortable in our home anymore, and have made the tough decision to re-home him. We would like to make the transition sooner than later for him and our family. We really feel he would do well in a home without young children, and would absolutely love a home with lots of outdoor space, land, or even a farm to run around. He is a sweet boy, but is not super affectionate. He loves to go on long walks, stretch out his long legs, roll around on his back, and cuddle his blanket. He definitely enjoys being outside a lot, which we cannot provide for him. He does suffer from severe anxiety, and also does not like enclosed or tight spaces. Is ok playing with other dogs in our experience, but unsure if he’s ever lived with other dogs. Please consider this sweet boy for your home.

Story
Pumpkin-Redtick Coonhound (American English Coonhound) female, ~ 2 yr. (March 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Pumpkin came to Rescue through a Prison Training program. She's been through the Prison Training program and has learned so much. Pumpkin has been deemed for a pet/companion home, versus a working dog/service dog. The trainer says she has a sweet temperament. She is housetrained and crate trained, having lived in an apartment at the prison, with her inmate trainer. He's had basic obedience. She learned about grooming and good husbandry skills. Pumpkin is good with other dogs. She has not met cats, some Coonhounds have a strong prey drive, so a home without a cat may be best. She has not lived with children due to being in the Prison Program but with her great personality, seems to have a lot of potential as a family dog. Pumpkin is a large breed dog, about 50#, all grown up. She will enjoy an active life and the breed is known for their intelligence and loyalty. They bond well with their owner. Pumpkin's adoption fee is $400 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For an application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/colt/ Hi everyone my name is Colt. My name would have you thinking of a young energetic horse, romping and running in a field. While I am not that old and do love long walks and an occasional dash around the yard, I am just as content relaxing and taking naps. While I am kind hearted and happy with the people I know, I am weary of strangers and new situations. Basically, even though I am a big boy, new things scare me. Because of this, I would do best in a quiet home with no children and a very experienced owner. If you are willing to take the time to get to know me and help me with my insecurities, please fill out an application and one of my favorite volunteers will contact you to discuss further before you come out to meet me. Story
🐾 Meet Moose! 🐾 This sweet, funny, and lovable 3-year-old Coonhound is looking for his forever home! At 67 pounds of pure joy, Moose is as curious as they come and loves exploring his surroundings. He's attentive and eager to please, making him a great companion for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures and spending quality time together. Moose is crate trained and has already started working on his housebreaking, so with a little patience, he’ll soon be fully house-trained. He’s also fantastic with other dogs and would be happiest in a home with furry friends to share his adventures with. 🐕💕 One thing Moose does need is a large yard with a tall fence or an invisible fence to safely roam and burn off his energy—he’s got the typical Coonhound curiosity and will want to explore everything around him! If you're ready for a playful, affectionate, and intelligent pup who will keep you laughing and give you endless love, Moose might just be the perfect fit for your family. 🐾 Is Moose the one you've been looking for? Contact us today to meet this amazing boy! Moose is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter.
