Story
Minnie is a sweet 2 year old hound mix. Gentle, quiet, and a little shy. Minnie is a bit reserved on first meeting but warms up given a minute and enjoys gentle pats and treats. She has a soft sweet energy and a kind heart. Minnie falls in love deeply when you are one of her people and she will follow you around and lie quietly waiting for you to give her attention. Like her puppies she is remarkably gentle and easy going and has moderate energy. She loves a good pack walk at the ranch where she is fostered but can often be seen meandering behind the dog pack enjoying sniffs and taking her time. Minnie has the patience of a saint with all the antics of the younger dogs in her foster home. She just sits quietly waiting for all the puppies to calm down! Minnie is learning about the world and is curious and a little cautious. But easily bribed with a treat she will jump In your car and happily go for an adventure. She is a perfect passenger in the car!! Minnie is great on leash and walks easily by your side. She loves strolls by the lake, hanging out in the shaded grass and being near her person. Minnie would love a home with gentle people and dogs who like walks and are easy going like her.

Story
Meet Pumpkin Spice! A gentle nine-and-a-half-year-old Coonhound currently in Pine Valley, CA, whose journey now includes finding a new loving home after the passing of her devoted pet parent, and whose warm tan and white coat perfectly matches her calm and comforting presence. This sweet girl carries herself with quiet confidence, bringing a sense of ease to every space she shares. With her soulful eyes and steady nature, Pumpkin Spice has a beautiful way of turning ordinary days into something special. She enjoys a simple and satisfying routine, starting her mornings with a peaceful walk after breakfast and winding down with an afternoon nap before dinner. Time spent outdoors is one of her favorite joys, whether she is exploring a securely fenced yard or stretching her legs with a relaxed stroll. She also has a soft spot for car rides, happily riding along as a loyal sidekick! Pumpkin Spice is house-trained, independent, and comfortable spending time on her own, making her a wonderful match for a caregiver who appreciates a dog who is both devoted and low maintenance. While she is neutral around other dogs, she tends to enjoy her own space and does not actively seek out canine companionship. True to her Coonhound instincts, she is not compatible with cats or small animals, as her curiosity and prey drive can take over. She thrives in a calm, predictable environment and would do well in a home without young children, as sudden noise and activity can make her uneasy. Stormy weather can also be a bit unsettling for her, so a reassuring presence during those moments helps her feel safe. Pumpkin Spice does require medication to manage a heart murmur, and she responds well to consistent care. Her most endearing trait is her loving nature. She leans into quiet companionship, enjoying simply being near her people. If you are looking for a steady, affectionate companion who finds joy in life’s quieter rhythms, Pumpkin Spice is ready to share that journey! Could Pumpkin Spice be the comforting presence your home has been waiting for? To learn more or welcome her into your family, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com. Story
Meet Koa! A spirited seven-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound mix currently in Temecula, CA, whose presence is a lively blend of soulful howls and boundless energy wrapped in a sleek black coat with warm brown accents. Koa is an affectionate, high-energy companion who thrives on human connection and loves being part of the action, whether he is heading out for a long run, enjoying enrichment time with his favorite bones, or hopping into the car for an adventure! He already knows commands like sit, lay, and stay, and he responds well to structure and continued learning through positive reinforcement. Koa forms strong bonds with his people and greets others with enthusiasm, bringing a joyful spark into daily life! He is house-trained, crate trained, and comfortable being left alone for short periods, making him a steady presence in a home that can match his active lifestyle. His expressive howl and constant-companion nature make him a memorable and engaging friend who loves to stay close to his favorite humans. Koa would do well in a calm, structured environment with an experienced guardian who understands canine communication and behavior support. He needs clear boundaries, consistent routines, and plenty of daily exercise to help him feel balanced and fulfilled. Koa is not compatible with multi-dog living and would need to be the only pet in the home so he can focus fully on his relationship with his family. Koa also has a history of challenging interactions that require thoughtful management. He has been involved in multiple conflicts with other dogs and has shown reactivity toward them. In addition, there was a recent incident where he bit a family member after being approached while resting, despite giving warning signals. This highlights how important it is for his guardian to recognize and respect his need for space, especially during rest times, and to provide a low-stimulation environment with careful introductions to new people. With the right guidance, Koa’s loyalty, energy, and affectionate personality truly shine. Could Koa be your next adventure partner who keeps life active, engaging, and full of connection? If you are ready to offer a structured, understanding environment, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets.
