Story
Meet Chip! Age: golden oldie Weight: 62 pounds Good with: Dogs, ignore cats, haven't been around kids (but I'm super sweet and gentle) House trained: yes Crate trained: yes Special needs: I don't hear too well anymore at my age, and I have some arthritis in my hips and lower back, that I take some medicine for. Oh man, I'm so excited to finally be on the lookout for my new home! I love car rides and leisurely walks. And by leisurely, I mean nice and slow. Not too far though, I'll get wobbly on the way back home otherwise. I'm a gentle boy who loves to be loved and love in return! Boy, that's a lot of love! I'm a fan of getting pet and enjoy attention from my humans. Good news, my fur is super soft and velvety! Perfect for petring! My second favorite thing is naps! I'll nap on and off all day long. It's actually a specialty of mine! In my new home I'll just need a human to pet me and a bed to snuggle up on. Not asking for much! Do you have something like that, and want to bring me home with you? *Chip is being fostered in Menomonee Falls, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Check out our Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs! To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info! ***I am able to go home to my forever family right off of transport! You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!*** Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on February 7th and arrive on February 8th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever and I am worried. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!! Updated: 1/20/2025 Dog Name: Bridget Sex: Female Estimated Breed Mix: Collie mix Approximate Age: 2 years old Approximate Weight: 45-55lbs Adoption Fee: $450 Description: Bridget was found alone wandering the streets in 15 degree weather, she was eager to jump into the car of her finder. Her owners were not located and she now is looking for her forever home! Bridget is a GREAT girl. She is dog, kid & cat friendly (has met 2 cats). She rides great in a vehicle and is so affectionate! Bridget is intelligent and eager to please. She has a gorgeous coat with unique markings and a big smile that is so contagious!  We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs once they're at least 6 months old. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are between 6 to 8 months old. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. January 22, 2025, 8:39 pm

Looking for a fun-loving bundle of fluff? Puppy might be your perfect match!About 2-years-old, this chow/collie/golden retriever mix is a charming boy who loves a squeaky toy and a romp with his canine friends. Puppy is always ready to bring a smile to your face. Now let’s talk about treats, Puppy is a big fan (I mean who isn’t?) and will be sure to win you over with his adorable `please give me a snack` eyes. It takes Puppy a little time to really trust the humans in his house but patience & a pocket full of treats will definitely help.Puppy would love for his forever home to have a fenced in yard and a canine buddy though he does like a nice walk and is working on his leash manners. If you’re looking for a sweet and playful friend, Puppy might be the one for you. Apply to meet this boy today!Interested in adopting this dog? Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend. We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog. Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. Story
Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required Lovely Luna came to us as part of a group of wonderful smoothies. She is a very gentle girl who knows how to ask for affection with a soft nudge. She will approach her family looking for pets and sweet talk and in return will lavish them with kisses. She affectionately greats visitors as well. If she’s not with her people, you’ll likely find this snuggle bug curled up in bed. Luna is very treat motivated and has learned many commands. Additionally, she plays well with toys and with the foster family’s dogs. She walks well on a leash and travels well in the car once she’s been encouraged to get in. Luna can be easily frightened, so it will be important to provide her with confidence building activities and to slowly introduce her to new people and things. She would benefit from basic obedience training using positive reinforcement and a soft approach. Once Luna is comfortable in the environment, she warms right up and eagerly seeks love and attention. If you give Luna a chance, it won’t be long before you’re over the moon for her. Copy and paste link below for more information https://www.collierescue.org/DogDetails.aspx?id=2024-014

Story
Fostered in IL Fenced yard required https://www.collierescue.org/DogDetails.aspx?id=2024-010 Hey, you guys! It's me, Ron with a little update about how things are going. I'm a little sad and a little confused about why I haven't heard from my Forever yet, but I know you are out there, somewhere. I know I'm not a Lassie type, but I am a real Collie - just the short-coated kind. That just means that I won't have any of those annoying knots to brush out all the time, and I think that's a big plus. I am rough-factored which gives me more hair than lots of smooths, if it helps! So, I'm a two-year- old tri colored male. I live with a bunch of other collies now and get along fine after a good introduction. I've learned not to chase cats (kinda), but squirrels and bunnies are fair game so a fenced yard is a must. I'm getting used to neighborhood noises but wouldn't mind a quieter home away from that nonsense, either. I do have a strong personality and a deep voice but underneath I can be a real softie. I'm on the fence about kids - individually they can be ok, but in a group, maybe not so much. I'm athletic, love taking really long walks and toys are great - I even play fetch! I'm really hoping that my Forever sees this - I'm waiting for you, friend!

Story
Know anyone who is looking for a belly rub lovin' best friend? Layla is ready for her forever home! Layla came to MWBCR as a stray from rural Iowa. She is a high energy freight train on four legs, but is totally content to be a couch potato, as long as she gets enough exercise throughout the day. Her foster mom currently ensures she gets two or three 30-minute exercise breaks per day - her very favorite workout is chasing the spray from a garden hose! Still a bit shy around new people, Layla does make fast friends after a short visit and some high-value treats. She loves belly rubs and booty scritches and will smooch her foster mom repeatedly as a thank you. She is a big snuggler, but often on her own terms. When she's not lounging on the sofa, she does have a very strong herding drive (hence her love of the garden hose spray). She runs circles around other dogs and people and will sometimes muzzle punch your leg to get you to do something… especially to throw a ball. She does sometimes do the typical herding "nip," but has never bitten. Layla is house-trained but may have an occasional (rare) accident, which is understandable for a dog that may have lived exclusively outside before being rescued. While she definitely prefers to be out and with her people for most of the day, she does settle nicely into her crate and will sleep 7-8 hours through the night in it. She would do best in a home where someone is home most of the time. She also does great in a hard-sided crate for car travel after she's had a good game of fetch or chasing the hose. One of Layla's biggest victories in her foster home has been her progress with the vet. When she first came into rescue, she was terrified and aggressive at the clinic, and she could not be seen without heavy sedation. Her foster mom has been taking her in for "happy visits" once a week for many months and she now happily trots in to accept snacks and praise from the staff. This has shown us that with a little work, she can definitely overcome fear of new places. Prior border collie or working/herding experience is required to adopt Layla, as this special girl definitely needs a home with a job, a solid understanding of the breed, and lots of patience. A fenced yard is preferred, but a family who makes the commitment to visiting a private park or other secure space for playtime may be considered. As a note, we very much know she will not be a good fit for a family with other smaller pets or young children. After proper introductions, she would probably do fine with a larger dog that can tolerate her herding tendencies. Like any new rescue, Layla would benefit greatly from time with a behavioral trainer, especially to work on her leash skills. She's a very strong girl who is reactive to moving vehicles, people, and animals. Layla has made incredible strides in her foster home and we know she will thrive with a forever family dedicated to helping her be her best self. Location & Contact Location: Southeast Wisconsin Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org Location & Contact Visit our site for more info https://www.mwbcr.org/alldogs Location: Southeast Wisconsin Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org

Story
Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls.
