Story
Meet Kansas, a beautiful Rough Collie who is looking for her true forever home. Originally purchased from a breeder, she was rehomed when her first family's older dog struggled to accept a puppy. Her current family took her in and gave her a loving home, but unfortunately, they are moving and unable to take her along. Wanting the best for Kansas, they reached out to our rescue for help. Kansas is currently living with her two foster parents, and their two dogs, and has regular visits from the grandkids. She gets along well with other dogs and makes new friends easily. Being young and active, she needs a home with a playful companion to match her energy. Kansas is not a city or condo dog, She will do best in a home with some space to romp and play and needs an active family. We checked in with her foster mom, Cindy, for an early update: "Kansas has a very sweet personality, but she’s still adjusting and learning to trust. She enjoys playtime and treats but hasn’t yet started actively seeking affection—I believe that will come with a little more time. She meets new dogs and people wonderfully on a leash and is very well-behaved on outings. She’s great in the car and loves to go on hikes. She’s a young, active dog who loves to play, though my older dogs aren’t always up for it, and she can be a bit of an enthusiastic little sister at times. This may settle as she continues to adjust. During the day, she’s energetic, but she does wind down at night. She’s fully housetrained and has no destructive tendencies, so I leave my door open at night, allowing her to roam freely with the other dogs." More to come as this pretty pup settles in. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes.
