Story
These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Laynee is a pint sized little lady who is looking for her furever family! She can be nervous of new people at first but with some time and patience she warms up and is SO loving. She would do best in a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of visitors as most cattle dogs can be weary of strangers especially unannounced ones their property. She would be most comfortable with older children who respect and understand a dog's boundaries. She enjoys swimming in the river and being loved by her people. She LOVES to ride in the car and would make a great adventurous hiking partner!! Laynee LOVES to chase balls and is full of energy so don't let that white face fool you she is only 4 years old! She is crate trained and house trained but could use a little work walking on leash. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Interested in adopting? Story
This handsome man is Oreo, yes like the cookie! He is around 3 years old and is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He was surrendered due to being extremely nervous around the baby and being very overprotective and starting to nip when the baby would get loud or cry. He did good in the home with the older kids so we think ages 12 and up would be the best fit. We would want all the kiddos to come to the meet and greet. He is a Border Collie mix and has the energy to match. He will do best in an active family that will take him on lots of adventures and give him time run run run! He is a bit nervous of new people at first and will sometimes do a low growl until he has a chance to sniff them. He has previously lived with dogs that are smaller than him and did good with them. He hasn't been around larger dogs much and has not shown good signs through a fence with them. A dog test will be required with any pups you currently have. He has never lived with cats before and chases the outside cats when he gets the chance. We feel it may be best to place him in a home with no cats. He is housetrained and crate trained. He likes to swim. ride in the car and is ok being brushed and taking a bath. He knows some basic commands such as sit and stay but would benefit from some leash training as he pulls just a bit.
