Story
To learn more about Colleen, please get in touch with tanab16@icloud.com Meet the black beauty, Colleen the Collie! Although she's not a purebred Collie, her mix certainly contains lots of it. This is presented in her beautiful coat and little white paws. The good news is she likes pets, so you can feel just how soft her coat is. Colleen has settled in well to her foster home. She is coming around but will need some extra time, space, and patience to blossom. Ideally, she needs a home that will understand that she will need a little TCL to come out of her shell. She loves other dogs, to run and play chase, sleeps well at home, and loves a good cuddle.

To learn more about Poppies, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Poppies will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event she will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/. (*Please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending each event.*) Meet Poppies, an adorable puppy with striking, soulful eyes that will melt your heart and a personality that’s just as captivating. With her sleek coat, pointy ears, and fluffy tail, she has an uncanny resemblance to a little black fox. While she can be a bit shy, she’s also very playful and full of curiosity, as she is eager to investigate the world around her. Happy and friendly, she’s the type of puppy who makes fast friends with everyone she meets. Whether she’s greeting a new person or bounding around the yard, Poppies exudes joy and excitement. She walks well on a leash, enjoys playing with toys, and definitely loves treats, accepting them gently whenever offered to her. If you’re looking to open up your home to a young and lovable, sweet-natured pup who’s ready for cuddles and belly rubs, as well as exciting adventures, then Poppies is your girl!

Female, 7 years old, 51 lbs. Personality: Trustworthy, serious, independent, adaptable and protective. Introducing Tallulah, the companion you've been dreaming of! This gentle girl has a heart full of love and a laid-back attitude that makes her the best cuddle buddy. Tallulah enjoys the simple pleasures in life-whether it's curling up beside you for a cozy nap, basking in the sun, or soaking up attention from her favorite humans, she brings joy and warmth to the home. Tallulah's sweet nature makes it easy for her to connect with people, and she has a knack for finding her favorite cozy spots to unwind. Plus, she has a spotless record of no accidents in the house. Tallulah is a loving and affectionate dog who enjoys her time with people. She's learned a variety of words like "sit, "stay, "down, "quiet, "paw, "go to bed, and "breakfast. She is perfecting sharing affection and toys, and would do best in a home without other dogs or young children. Tallulah has a great record with house training and she's also crate-trained. If you're looking for a loving, gentle dog to be your best friend, Tallulah is ready to steal your heart! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
