Story
Nadia is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Collie mix. She is friendly and affectionate though she can be a little shy initially in new situations. She loves being around her people. She is house trained on a schedule and crate trained. She has lived in a home with teenagers and loves them. She enjoys playing with the neighborhood dogs. She is a submissive gal, we recommend a meet and greet if there is an existing dog in the home. She knows the sit command. Meet and greets are by appointment only. She has L1/L2 hemivertebra, which is not bothering her but it’s important that she maintains her healthy weight of 30 pounds. Adoption fee is waived for this pup, however, submitting the online application and being approved is required. This pup is microchipped. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ and return it per instructions. Story
Bentley is a sweet, sweet young collie! We estimate his age to be 2 years old. He tested Lyme Positive (but with no signs of an active infection), and he is doing great on antibiotics. He is a mid-sized boy, recently neutered, and he has classic collie markings and a lovely coat. Bentley is energetic and playful, but he is cuddly and loves his people too! He knows sit, shake and delightedly bounds over when called. He immediately made himself at home on his foster mom's sofa and bed, and loves early morning cuddles. He’s getting along easily with the other collies in the house, and they enjoy playing together regularly.  He loves humans too, and greets everyone as a new best friend! Bentley is housebroken and has shown no fear or aggression … he's just a happy, sweet, loving boy, who is ready for his forever home and an active family to call his own!If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Story
Meet Kansas, a beautiful Rough Collie in search of her true forever home. Originally purchased from a breeder, Kansas was rehomed when her first family's older dog struggled to accept her as a puppy. She then found a loving home, but unfortunately, her family is moving and unable to take her along. Wanting the best for Kansas, they reached out to our rescue for help. Now in foster care, Kansas is living with her two foster parents and their two dogs, with regular visits from the grandkids. She’s proven to be incredibly friendly, does well meeting new people and dogs, and was just cat-tested—showing no interest even when the cat hissed and arched its back. We believe she could co-exist with a cat and would thrive with a young, playful dog companion. Kansas is an active, intelligent pup who needs an equally active family. She is not a city or condo dog—she will do best in a home with space to run and play. She would do best in a home with a yard and a playmate to match her energy.  We checked in with her foster mom, Cindy, for a 3-week update: "Kansas has settled in so nicely. It took her about two or three weeks to truly feel at home. The first few days, she paced around the house, unsure of her new surroundings. She was friendly but not fully engaged. Now, she follows me around, loves to lay by my feet, and enjoys belly rubs and ear scratches. She’s also discovered the joy of playing with her toys! Her new family just needs to be patient and give her time to build trust—once she does, she’s an amazing companion. She needs an active family—someone who will take her walking or hiking daily. She’s fantastic in the car, loves outdoor adventures, and could easily walk for miles. She meets new people and dogs beautifully and wants to play with everyone she meets. I think having another young, playful dog in the home would be ideal for her. I’ve been setting up playdates with our neighbor’s young dog at least once, sometimes twice a day, and Kansas lights up with joy every time. During the day, she’s energetic, but she does wind down at night. She’s fully housetrained, has no destructive tendencies, and sleeps freely with the other dogs. Kansas is truly a wonderful dog who just needs the right home to thrive!" ******* If you’re looking for an adventurous, loving companion, Kansas could be the perfect match! Apply today!   BREED ESTIMATE: Rough Collie GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  48 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 1.5 years old COAT TYPE: Long coat requires regular grooming ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION: Fort Mill, SC   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. Story
These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
