You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello, new friends! My name is  Winnie Rose  . I am a 4 month old collie Mix and I am looking for my forever home.   I am a sweet, shy girl who is looking for a patient adopter that is ready to show me love and will guide me through trusting you. I'll need a lot of patience and understanding while I get comfortable in my new home, but I promise we'll be friends after a short while.   Please don't let my shyness fool you! I am huge fan of other dogs and children. Having a dog friend in my new home will help me gain confidence and show me the ropes. If I might have human brothers and sisters, I'd do good with children of any size.   I am potty and crate trained. Having a crate in my new home is a must! This is my safe place when I'm feeling nervous, and my favorite place to nap throughout the day.    I have so much potential! Additional training will really help me shine and is important for my development.    If you think we'd be a good fit, please apply to adopt me. I can't wait to meet you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Are you looking for your next cuddle buddy?  Someone to follow you everywhere and shower you with love and kisses?  I'm your pup!!!  My name is Carlito and I LOVE people.  I especially love kids, but adults will do too.  I am a 6.5 month old Border Collie mix who really just wants a family of my own.  I try to be so good and don't like to be in trouble.  I use the dog door really well to go outside.  I am a smart boy and pick up new things quickly.  I have watched all my siblings and my best friend leave with their new families, but for some reason, no matter how much I try, I haven't been picked yet.  I get along well with other dogs and love to play with my foster siblings.  I bark at the cats on the other side of the fence sometimes, but when I'm with them directly I do pretty well.  I really, really love kids.  I'm still trying to keep my excitement under control when kids come to visit and I'm getting better.  I am a herding dog, but I am not over the top with either energy or drive to work.  I'm actually a pretty chill boy who will need play time and regular walking, but not marathon level.  I will likely be around 35-40 lbs full grown.  My smooth coat makes it easier to clean me off which is good because I love to play outside and especially in the water on a hot day.  If you think you could handle all my love please apply at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication as soon as possible.  I'm so ready to have a family of my own!!!      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2025, 7:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Howdy partner! My name is Duchesne, but my friends call me Dutch. I’m 1.5-years-old and I'm listed as a "collie mix" Maybe Border Collie? Could be some pointer in me, too!  I am full grown at 45 pounds. I made my way from the Uintah Basin where I lived outside, and boy, do I love the indoor life now! Humans are great to have around, and I’ve learned to appreciate their company. I enjoy snuggles at bedtime, but otherwise, cuddles are on my terms for now. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, love chasing balls, and value my alone time. I am still working on learning all the good dog things, but I'm doing *amazing*. In fact, foster mom started taking me to training classes and guess what?! I just GRADUATED my "Bright Beginnings" class! That means I've gone all the way thru a 6-week course already! So now I know all kinds of things! I'm even completely potty trained and crate trained, already! I was very shy and timid when I first got here, and training has made a big difference in building my confidence. I would love to keep it up with my forever family! I haven’t lived with cats, but they don’t seem to interest me much. Now, chickens and birds? I definitely notice them, and I'm interested! I can yodel and point to let you know when I’ve spotted them! I would love a family of my own, preferably with older children (12+) since the younger ones can be a bit scary for me. A fenced yard to run in would be perfect, and if you’re an active outdoor person, that’s a huge plus. My mind needs activity! I’m still working on my leash skills, but I’m making progress. If you’re looking for a smart, adventurous, and loving companion, look no further—Duchesne, or Dutch, is your guy!  apply to meet today : @https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 18, 2025, 6:16 pm

I am a female one-year-old shepherd mix. I’m only about 30 pounds and my foster mom says I am clever like a little fox and I look like one, too!  I get along great with other dogs and love everybody,I'm even fine with dog-savvy cats! I love to play chase and wrestle and have a ton of energy, so a house with a very active family or a doggy sibling would be best for me. I am kennel trained and potty trained with a doggy door and I’m working hard on my leash training. I am very cuddly and good with people and my favorite thing in the whole wide world is getting pets. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ready for your best buddy in the whole wide world? It’s me, Saint Rocco! I’m a 5 month old, 35 lb, collie mix looking for my forever home. My foster mom isn’t sure what I’m mixed with but thinks I could get fairly big (around 60 to 70 lbs). Saint Rocco (who I was named after) is the patron saint of dogs and this fits me perfectly because I  love  all dogs and all people! I try to be as careful as I can with the smaller humans, but sometimes I don’t realize my size so I would be best with older or dog-savvy kids. A home with another dog would be great, but if that’s not your home I’m also very good at entertaining myself if I have some toys. I’m mostly potty trained as long as I’m given opportunities to do my business. Once I’m in my crate I’m great and even sleep through the night - I may need some coaxing to go in though because I’d rather hang out with you. I’ve learned a lot since being in my foster home including the sit command and how to walk better on a leash. Not to brag, but I’m pretty good on a leash now. The only time I try to pull is when I’m trying to achieve my life goal: to have everyone I meet scratch my belly (my foster mom says I need to work on not pulling but how else am I going to get to every human I see?). I know this is a lot of information so the TLDR is if you’re looking for a goofy, loyal, sweet friend that is always down to play or cuddle here I am! You can apply to meet me at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication . Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 18, 2025, 5:44 pm

Story
Let me introduce you to the warm soul we call George, He has a comforting presence. George can come off a little reserved at first, but that’s just because he’s not the type to push for attention. He’s the quiet kind—like a best friend who’s always there, steady and grounding. George has all the traits of a loyal, loving dog and he is ready to find himself at home. What stands out most about George is how easy his company is. He’s slow and steady across the board—whether he’s meeting new people, walking on leash, hanging with other dogs, or encountering a cat.. Based on his look and temperament, we think he may be a Kelpie/Shepherd mix, estimated to be around 4 years old, and he weighs 50 lbs. As with any rescue, we can’t say with total certainty on age or breed, but he is fully-grown size so we can testify to how perfectly midsize he is. George is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his adoption day and this not only gives us a front-row account to hi personality but he also gets to learn and master the best house manners while he waits. His foster has praised George for how well he rides in the car- laying in the back peacefully, only perking up once they have arrived. He is also both house and crate trained! We loooove that! George lives with both cats and dogs in his foster home and he gets along well with them all. We spent an afternoon with George outside of his foster home to get a feel of his play style and approach to new dogs along with observing him meet a new cat. The first thing that jumped out was just how politely George meets new dogs on-leash. He showed a little excitement when he saw the first dog, it was contained but obvious, he was happy to meet a possible playmate. With each additional dog the approach was the same, neutral and calm. Although he never found the perfect playmate to really let loose, he was easy company and is dog-friendly. The most natural pairing was with a female, similar age to him, with a sense of confidence and bouts of playfullness. If going into a home with another dog, that would be almost exactly the type of dog he would be best with. Dogs like George, who come across as reserved, are often naturally independent, confident and content with their own company. Another quality we love! Even though we know George lives with cats we love to see a dog in a new environment, meeting a new cat to get a grasp on what that could look like once he is arriving in a new home. He was introduced on leash and he was curious but respectful and calm. As the cat got more animated and jumpy playing with a toy, George definitely thought it was an invitation to play. He obviously can live peacefully with cats but we all know, cat personalities are a variable. If joining a house with a cat(s), it would be best if they were dog savvy. He will respect a swat and may need one to mind a boundary. George would do great in a home with a yard, if for no other reason than his simple joy of laying in the shade on a patch of green grass. It is heaven to watch! He has great basic leash skills with a nice pace but a hectic, busy environment might throw off his vibes. Basically, the busy environment of elevators and lobby are not for him. He could do it, but we can see he isn’t much of a busy city guy. The same goes for family-life, he could do it but he has really been spoiled by a foster home with the occasional 20 something year old kid coming by to do laundry. In other words, empty-nester? Not with George! He is ready to fill your time with good company! Invite this boy home to peaceful place and a patch of grass, with a doggie friend and a cool cat and George will be there to take it all in—his pace and by your side! If you’ve got room in your life for a gentle heart and a quiet companion, George is ready to bring calm, sweetness, and unwavering loyalty into your world. Questions? We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
This is Alvin- tall, dark, and handsome, plus he is smart, great company and ready for anything but looking for forever! See what he is bringing to the table here then come back to read more about him! https://youtu.be/mdSnEmN08NY Alvin became a fast favorite of everyone here for more than his good looks. His ears and happy sunshine face grab your attention then his good-natured personality seals the deal. He is a perfect passenger prince, is house and crate trained, plays fetch, is a great doggie playmate and is self-entertaining….seriously the more I think about it- he is pretty great... I’ll race you to apply for him! Estimated to be 2 years old and weighing 55 lbs, Alvin had us all guessing at what breed mix he might be. We can’t say with 100% confidence with any rescue dog but this boy here feels like a shot in the dark for us, so if you adopt him and get his DNA results can you share them? It’ll help settle some bets. We have a couple bets on Collie/ Shepherd, throw in some pittie to make a true Texas special. Alvin is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home while he waits for his forever home. His foster shared, he is house and crate trained, has good house manners and minds basic commands. Alvin is living along-side an older female boxer who has past her days of play and is more into naps and Alvin respects that. Luckily he gets regular meet-ups with other dogs to get his play energy out. We introduced Alvin to a handful of dogs to get a feel for his “type” of dog and see his play style in action. Alvin loves to play! He has a rough and tumble approach to play and when his playmate matches that it is so fun to watch. His immediate play connection was with a female who was both similar in size to him as well as an energetic match. But no matter the dogs he met he was easy going and respectful. During his first on-leash meeting he was visibly excited but contained it well and once he got to meet her that excitement dissipated into an appropriate dog meeting. He is dog-friendly but has an enthusiastic approach to play that won’t suit every dog. Alvin would flourish in a home with a confident, moderately playful female dog who will match him. His foster has shared his love of outdoor adventures, and you can see he is practically built for it. That sleek frame and those long legs are begging to be a regular on your favorite hiking trail or running path. Bonus, getting there will just as enjoyable. If you get the door Alvin can load up on his own and is happy to curl up in the seat to watch through the window or take a little nap. Because of his size and love of bouncy play and a good round of fetch, Alvin would do best in a home with a yard, older kids and no cats, as he’s still working on his boundaries with smaller animals and his enthusiasm for play could knock over a little one on unsteady legs. He would both love and thrive in a home with a dog-friend to bounce around with and take naps in the shade next to. But don’t worry, despite his love of a good romp, you will often find him laying around with a toy or chewie. We love a a self-entertaining dog! Personality wise, Alvin can be described as a gentleman, who is polite socially, no pushy people greetings with him, and a perfect touch silly. Alvin has classic good dog potential, he is most of the way there but a forever family of his own and experiencing life by your side, is what will bring out that last bit of perfection. If any part of you thinks Alvin is the one, apply now! If you have any questions about Alvin or are ready to move forward by applying, here is all the info you need. We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
