Story
Hello Seamus! (pronounced Shamus) Seamus is a smooth tri collie approximately 6 years old and about 55 pounds. He came to HCR from a hoarding situation of neglect. He has come a long way with his foster mom learning trust and love. Seamus is happiest outside, running freely and barking greetings to neighboring kitties, kids, and doggies! His favorite place is chillin’ on the sofa. He can be a bit goofy playing with toys, and seeking attention and love with sweet little nose taps. He does well on a leash and short walks. He also enjoys car rides. Seamus’ perfect home would be a peaceful adult home with another calm playful dog to continue to give him confidence. Seamus loves other dogs and is just the sweetest boy! He is shy and will need a little patience and understanding to gain trust with his new owner. Seamus will make the right person a wonderful loving companion. Local adoptions only. Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org. Texas applicants only.

Story
Biscuit! Here is your new best friend! Biscuit is a big, friendly, goofy collie mix, around 10 months old, 60 lbs, and healthy. Biscuit loves people & attention and wants to follow you around, be petted and cuddled. He loves to sleep on your lap – a real lap dog! He is great with meeting new dogs and has good doggie manners. Biscuit can be a bit clumsy and just doesn’t know how big he is! If you have kids, they should be familiar with a larger dog. Biscuit is learning his manners and basic obedience, walks nicely on a leash, rides in a car, kennel trained, housebroken, and uses a doggie door. He would do best in a family with other pets or kids, but he can be adopted as an only dog if his people are able to spend time with him. He will not do well being left alone for hours. Biscuit is very smart, rarely barks, learns quickly, and is very sensitive to corrections. We do not have cats in the house, but we expect Biscuit will get along well with them based on his sisters (Breeze and Bonnie) who were recently adopted. If Biscuit is your guy, apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org!

Story
Young, sweet, handsome Ollie is looking for his forever family. Ollie is 2-3 yr old, small at 50 lb, and is a purebred mahogany rough coated collie. His coat was badly matted and he had to be shaved, but it will regrow. He came to his foster home a little rough around the edges. My guess is he has never been a house dog. We’ve been working on jumping and climbing on people and he is much, much better now. He has never had an accident in the house. He is house trained, crate trained, neutered, vaccinated, and chipped. He is a healthy boy with no health issues. He is outgoing, friendly, and playful. Sometimes when he plays he gets a little worked up and is rougher with my collies than he should be. But he takes corrections from them with good humor and is improving every day. A young, playful doggie friend would suit him best. He could be an only dog so long as his exercise needs are met with a good size yard for running around and he is not left alone for long periods of time. He would be a good match for older kids but is a bit too rambunctious for babies and toddlers. If Ollie sounds like your kind of collie, please apply for the sweet boy at houstoncollierescue.org.

Story
Lexie is a such a sweet collie girl.  She is 8 years old.  She loves attention and to be loved on.  She gets along well with other dogs, but she has not been around cats so that is unknown.  Lexie likes to be groomed and behaves well when there.  She is housetrained and up-to-date on her shots.  She also has not been around small children, so that is unknown also, but based on her personality, we imagine she would love them.  Lexie does have a little age related stiffness, so joint supplements are a must.  Lexie would be the perfect collie for a retired person(s).  A fenced yard is required.  Please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##2089901##

Story
Bristol is a beautiful 1 year old tri headed white collie. She is deaf and will require a special person/family to give her all the TLC she needs. She runs with the other 4 collies in her foster home and plays very well with them. Bristol loves her toys and for you to throw them for her.  She requires a fenced-in yard. Bristol is up-to-date on all shots/vaccines, is spayed, and is on a monthly heartworm/flea preventative. It will be best if she goes to a home with another dog because she needs the companionship. She is being fostered with Pearl, a 7 yr. old sable collie that is also looking for her forever home.   You can apply for Bristol at freedomcollierescue.org #rescuecolliestx ##2184011##

Story
What Junior`s foster parents have to say about him -- Approximate age: About 5 yearsApproximate size: 45-50 lbsGood with dogs? Yes once he warms upCats? Hasn`t been tested yetKids? Hasn`t been tested yet, but think he`d be fine with themHow are they doing with potty training? He`s decent, but we do still catch him trying to mark in the house. It is getting much better though. How are they doing in their crate? He HATES the crate and will tear himself up trying to get out of it.Energy level? Couch potatoAny issues with guarding? Not that we`ve noticedLeash reactivity? He does react to other dogs on the leash at times. I think it all stems from him being attacked and he tries to get his bluff in early. He`s not a mean dog at all.Fearful? Not that we`ve noticedAggression? Wouldn`t call it aggression, but he does seem to try and pick on the new dogs who have arrived here after him. We correct him and he`s been fine with them.Separation anxiety? Yes. He does not like to be away from you/contained. He will scratch the door if he`s shut in the room without you. We leave him uncrated downstairs when we leave and he does fine. He does have Buddy and Autumn with him, so he`s not alone. Anything else you’d like to add?Junior is the biggest cuddle bug you`ll meet. This boy wants to be curled up in your lap (or beside you because he`s not tiny) as much as he possibly can. He is your shadow when you`re home and will be wherever you are. He is a pretty lazy boy, but has started engaging with the other dogs to play here and there. His perfect home would be with someone who`s retired or works from home. He loves to be on the couch/in bed with you, so a family who doesn`t mind dogs on the furniture is a must. I think he enjoys having the other dogs around, but a home with another dogs isn`t a must for him.

Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Easy-going little Keebler hasn't had the smoothest of lives prior to coming into our program, but she sure is a happy gal now that she's here! Keebler has been allowed to breed many times over, and while she may not favor spending time with other dogs(and is VERY unsure of cats), she's elated to be in the company of humans! Chatty(she's a woo girl) Keebler is a blank slate when it comes to basic obedience but does decently on a leash, and is quickly learning the simpler commands while she waits for a sunny spot on a comfy couch to call her own. This mashup of doggie genetics has us confused on just what makes a Keebler, so a DNA panel has been ordered! If you're looking for a no-fuss pup who takes life slow and easy, Keebler's your girl. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
From Chip's foster mom: We helped take care of Bea’s litter as they were growing up, and my son and I often referred to the sable boys as “The Chipmunks”. So when Busy joined us - and his two sisters we had adopted - we started calling him Chip! Chip was born May 6, 2024. He is 50% Australian Cattle Dog, 25% collie and 25% a mix of other breeds. He is up to date on vaccines, HW negative and soon to be neutered and weighs around 40 lbs. Chip is a sweet, sensitive soul. It’s hard not to adopt him ourselves! He takes some time to warm up, but once he knows he is safe, he’s in your arms in no time. He enjoys sitting with us on the back porch and watching the other dogs play, observing the chickens, ducks, and goats in the back of the property, and taking it all in. He’ll also climb in our laps on the couch. He has been started on loose leash walking and basic manners. He is very food motivated, and loves to carry around toys. Chip is willing to try new things, with lots of encouragement and a slow, steady pace. He is crate trained, and only takes a short time to settle in. He does need to eat his dinner out of a slow feeder bowl otherwise he is quite the fast eater! He has started getting accustomed to having his nails dremeled when on the grooming table. Chip would do best in a home with a confident but friendly and mild mannered dog (male or female), or be the only dog. He has a tendency to want all of the attention to himself and has occasionally let the other dogs in his foster home know that he wants left alone while he gets attention. I would not suggest he be around cats or small animals, as he has shown quite an interest in our Chinchilla and the outdoor cats. I would recommend him with kids over 10, as he will jump to get attention (we’re still working on that!) and his nervousness in new situations. When he gets nervous he just belly flops or “puts on the brakes”. He is motivated to move by positive words and especially tidbits of food. Chip doesn’t love car rides since he still gets a little carsick, but if his human is going - I’m sure he’d be happy to tag along to quiet places. Chip is looking forward to settling in with his lifelong family! Will this sweetheart be your match? Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org
