Story
What Junior`s foster parents have to say about him -- Approximate age: About 5 yearsApproximate size: 45-50 lbsGood with dogs? Yes once he warms upCats? Hasn`t been tested yetKids? Hasn`t been tested yet, but think he`d be fine with themHow are they doing with potty training? He`s decent, but we do still catch him trying to mark in the house. It is getting much better though. How are they doing in their crate? He HATES the crate and will tear himself up trying to get out of it.Energy level? Couch potatoAny issues with guarding? Not that we`ve noticedLeash reactivity? He does react to other dogs on the leash at times. I think it all stems from him being attacked and he tries to get his bluff in early. He`s not a mean dog at all.Fearful? Not that we`ve noticedAggression? Wouldn`t call it aggression, but he does seem to try and pick on the new dogs who have arrived here after him. We correct him and he`s been fine with them.Separation anxiety? Yes. He does not like to be away from you/contained. He will scratch the door if he`s shut in the room without you. We leave him uncrated downstairs when we leave and he does fine. He does have Buddy and Autumn with him, so he`s not alone. Anything else you’d like to add?Junior is the biggest cuddle bug you`ll meet. This boy wants to be curled up in your lap (or beside you because he`s not tiny) as much as he possibly can. He is your shadow when you`re home and will be wherever you are. He is a pretty lazy boy, but has started engaging with the other dogs to play here and there. His perfect home would be with someone who`s retired or works from home. He loves to be on the couch/in bed with you, so a family who doesn`t mind dogs on the furniture is a must. I think he enjoys having the other dogs around, but a home with another dogs isn`t a must for him.

Story
**This dog is with Corridor Rescue in Houston, Texas** Easy-going little Keebler hasn't had the smoothest of lives prior to coming into our program, but she sure is a happy gal now that she's here! Keebler has been allowed to breed many times over, and while she may not favor spending time with other dogs(and is VERY unsure of cats), she's elated to be in the company of humans! Chatty(she's a woo girl) Keebler is a blank slate when it comes to basic obedience but does decently on a leash, and is quickly learning the simpler commands while she waits for a sunny spot on a comfy couch to call her own. As she's settled into life at the shelter, pretty little Keebler has made it clear her goal is to be an only pet, and we're happy to oblige this request! She's just enough spunk to be the center of attention, which is just how she likes it. This mashup of doggie genetics has us confused on just what makes a Keebler, so a DNA panel has been ordered and results will be listed as soon as we have them. A funny little old lady in a dog suit, Keebler is the type who'd likely make a mean key lime pie and chain smoke(but only on Bunco nights) were she human. If you're looking for a no-fuss pup who takes life slow and easy, Keebler's your girl. *** Please apply to foster or adopt online at www.corridorrescue.org Direct inquiries to: adopt@corridorrescue.org The adoption fee of $225 covers spay/neuter, microchip and current vaccines. Transport is available and can be discussed on an individual basis. Thank you for considering a rescued former street dog for your next family member!

Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
Hello Seamus! (pronounced Shamus) Seamus is a smooth tri collie approximately 6 years old and about 55 pounds. He came to HCR from a hoarding situation of neglect. He has come a long way with his foster mom learning trust and love. Seamus is happiest outside, running freely and barking greetings to neighboring kitties, kids, and doggies! His favorite place is chillin’ on the sofa. He can be a bit goofy playing with toys, and seeking attention and love with sweet little nose taps. He does well on a leash and short walks. He also enjoys car rides. Seamus’ perfect home would be a peaceful adult home with another calm playful dog to continue to give him confidence. Seamus loves other dogs and is just the sweetest boy! He is shy and will need a little patience and understanding to gain trust with his new owner. Seamus will make the right person a wonderful loving companion. Local adoptions only. Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org. Texas applicants only.

Story
Biscuit! Here is your new best friend! Biscuit is a big, friendly, goofy collie mix, around 10 months old, 60 lbs, and healthy. Biscuit loves people & attention and wants to follow you around, be petted and cuddled. He loves to sleep on your lap – a real lap dog! He is great with meeting new dogs and has good doggie manners. Biscuit can be a bit clumsy and just doesn’t know how big he is! If you have kids, they should be familiar with a larger dog. Biscuit is learning his manners and basic obedience, walks nicely on a leash, rides in a car, kennel trained, housebroken, and uses a doggie door. He would do best in a family with other pets or kids, but he can be adopted as an only dog if his people are able to spend time with him. He will not do well being left alone for hours. Biscuit is very smart, rarely barks, learns quickly, and is very sensitive to corrections. We do not have cats in the house, but we expect Biscuit will get along well with them based on his sisters (Breeze and Bonnie) who were recently adopted. If Biscuit is your guy, apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Do you love to cuddle? I am your gal!Did you see my adorable face?  I am a fun loving girl, who loves to crawl up on my foster mom's lap and cuddle. I play all day with my foster siblings. But if there is a spare lap, I am right there! Did someone say water? How about mud? I have discovered if I get dirty, mom gives me a bath! I love water and especially love it when mom scrubs me with great smelling bubbles and then rubs me dry with a big fluffy towel. I love water! Sometimes I sit in our empty puppy pool just begging mom to fill it up! I am an active dog and not suitable for an apartment, nor small children. I will need another dog in the house to keep me happy.  I am protective of my people, so  proper introductions need to happen to anyone new. AARFhouston.org/forms My litter mates and I were orphaned at two weeks old after our mother died. I love to play with my siblings and foster moms dogs! I would love to have an older sibling in my new home to play with and teach me how to be a well mannered pup! I should be around 30-45 pounds when full grown.  My adoption fee includes four rounds of shots, rabies shots, neuter and microchip (at a regular vet all of these services would cost over $500!)  ========================================================= Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application .  Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I am Super smart, fun loving guy who would love to have an active family. I am not an apartment guy! I need to run.Bethoven says: I would make you the happiest family EVER!  I'm super cute, and super happy and super cuddly! I have lots of energy for walks or runs or playing with the hose in the backyard (its like my most favoritest thing).    I would make the most bestest dog brother EVER!  I love to instigate play and would be your bestiest friend! (like 4-ever). You'll never find a better dog brother than I would be! I'm kind of a big boy, and apparently I'm a bit 'oral' Whatever that means *sheesh*. I DON'T bite, NO WAY!  But I've got a lot of puppy still, or so they say... so I like to put my mouth on things, especially when I'm playing.   I really want to find my forever home, my first family really loved me, but had to give me up because my first momma needed to get out of bad situation and the shelter didn't allow me to come.   I'm just know I'll be the bestest dog you've ever had!   aarfhouston.org/forms for an application    Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Arlo. I’m intelligent, funny, charming, lovable, extremely energetic, and so handsome. I need lots of attention and a job to do. I hate being left alone for long periods. And I must have lots of cuddle time. I enjoy doing fun activities and learning. True to my breed, I also like to herd my sisters. I’m the perfect cuddle buddy, and I like to watch TV with my human. I really like shows with animals, especially other dogs. I can jump almost 6 feet into the air, so I need a minimum 6 ft fence when I play outdoors. I like most adults. But small kids make me very uncomfortable. I move hard and fast, and don’t realize my own strength. I like other dogs, but I can be protective of my food and toys. I prefer to be around female dogs. And I don’t like dominant, pushy dogs. I would be an awesome therapy dog, or something cool like that. I can run fast and jump high, so I would also be awesome at agility. I need a parent who can  recognize and appreciate my amazing abilities, and will continue to bring out the best in me. Is that you?  ========================================================= Please contact  app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. You can apply online by clicking on Application .
