Story
This handsome boy needs a very special human in his life as he just can not bring himself to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately but it is rare, he did not like his foster mom at all initially but now he is really loving and adoring with her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone and otherwise makes it clear he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with lots of other dogs and is especially playful with many of the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners which is great because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home without a lot of people coming and going and/or with a place he can be away from people that do not live with him and no young children. His perfect home would be his human and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.

Story
Grace is a stunning 1 year old 50 pound collie/lab mix (best guess!).  She is very well trained and would love a home with a fenced yard and an owner who will to take her on walks-though apartment living suits her well, too! Grace is super chill with a laid back temperament. She would be happiest in a home as an only dog so she has your undivided attention. She is a great cuddler and even masquerades as a couch potato at times. She would be ideal for an older couple, less active individual or special needs person who would enjoy a low key dog.   To meet Grace in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all jadults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2179383##

Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I`m a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I`m known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won`t hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters`s bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I`m alone.Overall, I`m a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Josi is a sweet almost 7 year old, 46 pound gal looking for a relaxed home. She would love a female owner with no children and no cats. She?d be fine in a home with a male, but bonds better with female humans Josi is looking for a calm environment where she can get belly rubs and relax. She is house/crate trained. Josi would do well as a solo pet or with a calm dog companion. She enjoys going for walks, zoomies in the backyard and watching tv. Josi is a low maintenance dog looking for the quiet life!October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Vienna is a gentle, sweet and loving blue heeler mix. She loves to snuggle at your feet and look lovingly into your eyes. She is great with other dogs but doesn’t want to play with them; if a dog is being too energetic in her face she does let them know with a nice little rumble. She is appropriately 6 years old. When found, Vienna had been living on the streets in rural Louisiana for over a year. Despite that difficult life, she is good with (older) children, though we’re unsure how she’ll respond to cats. She likes to go on short walks in the park and really enjoys watching other dogs play, even though she has no interest in joining them! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Vienna is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm
