Story
Meet Barkley, a playful and spirited collie mix with a sweet personality. He may start off with a burst of energy, but it doesn’t take long for him to settle down and relax. Barkley enjoys playing with toys and is never destructive with them. He does get along with kids and dogs. Has not been tested with cats yet. He’s treat-motivated and will sit right away for a tasty reward. While he loves affection, Barkley is also perfectly content entertaining himself with a toy. This happy little guy is ready to bring both fun and companionship to his new home!

Story
This handsome boy needs a very special human in his life as he just can not bring himself to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately but it is rare, he did not like his foster mom at all initially but now he is really loving and adoring with her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone and otherwise makes it clear he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with lots of other dogs and is especially playful with many of the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners which is great because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home without a lot of people coming and going and/or with a place he can be away from people that do not live with him and no young children. His perfect home would be his human and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.

Story
I am 70 years old. My son got me this dog as a puppy a little over a year ago. He wanted something that could protect me. She does the opposite of that, (haha). Ever since she was a puppy she has been a little skiddish of loud noises. She is an amazing, loving dog. She gets along with every animal, kids, adults, etc. She is house broken and crate trained. I sold my house back in June and moved in with my son. He bought some land and put up a house. However, in the process, his dog for some reason doesn't get along with my dog at all. When she passes my dog, it immediately begins a fight, so we have to keep them separated. Currently, we have recently moved and I've been keeping her in our shop because they don't get along. I have been taking her out on a leash since she was a puppy, but she still tugs while taking her out. She beginning to be too strong for me to walk her, so my son has to help me. She needs a fenced yard to run around in and someone to love her. She us amazing!!

Story
Meet Willow!Hi there! My name is Willow, and I`m a sweet and playful four-year-old dog. I absolutely love being around kids, and I`m known for being great with them. Although I can be a bit skittish around men when we first meet, I quickly warm up and become playful once I feel comfortable.I have excellent house manners, which means I know how to behave well inside. I never beg for food, and you won`t hear me barking unnecessarily. At night, I love to sleep at the foot of my fosters`s bed, keeping them company and providing them with warmth and comfort.Sometimes, when my foster leaves, I may scratch at the door. However, with a bit of training and adjustment, this behavior will improve over time. It could be a good idea to consider using a crate or kennel to help me feel secure and comfortable when I`m alone.Overall, I`m a really nice dog, and I would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and loyal furry friend. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Hello I'm Radar! Everyone always talks about my ears! I am a young adult and have some puppy energy. I love to chew on toys and I may need some help learning what is okay to gnaw on. I love to play with dogs and I love people! I would do best in a home with other dog friends to play with. I have spent most of my puppy life in a shelter so I am working on house training. I enjoy my crate and love to snack on some frozen kongs while you are out.
