Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
We adopted Wags around 12 years ago and she was estimated to be about a year old at the time. She’s very sweet with a calm disposition, although she does get excited around other dogs. However, she typically mellows out after a brief introductory period with the other dog. Although technically old by number of years, she has no health issues. We had our first child recently and learned early on that she has a notable allergy to dogs that is affecting her health more than we can be comfortable with any longer. After trying to make it work the best we could, we’ve had to come to the difficult decision to place the needs of our child above our pets. Although, we are sad to see her go, we know she will bring joy to another household.

Story
Sampson is 8 years old. His human mom had an aneurysm and survived, but is no longer able to care for a dog. He is a purebred collie, but we did not get the papers. His hair can grow longer but we have been keeping it short more for his comfort than to control shedding. His shedding is mild to moderate not too bad. We have been taking care of him for over a year, but with our children getting older and developing more needs it is becoming more difficult to also take care of the dog. Sampson is a very calm dog. On walks he doesn’t tug on the lease, at home he lies down. He mostly ignores our cat, but has accepted cuddles from cats in the past home. He is kind to our dog, to dogs on walks, and the two dogs he used to live with. His herding instincts manifest in a routine patrol of the house. He walks from room to room and looks around for a bit then leaves.

Story
Farmi is 30 pounds of sweet licks and cuddles. She is approximately 7 months old, crate and house trained. She is up to date on her vaccines and on flea and heart-worm prevention and is spayed. This girl has never met a stranger and loves people and dogs. She loves to chase frogs and can’t wait for them to make their next jump. Her favorite toys are her Beauty and the Beast roses and her Nylabone chew sticks. She would do best in a home where she has a yard to run in. She loves to run and explore. Farmi is super smart and a quick learner. She is excited to meet you!
