Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MAGGIE-Pierce was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024.  Maggie-Pierce is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 4 November 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure she gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to her wonderful life ahead of her. Maggie-P is in a kennel with several other pups similar in age, some bigger, some smaller and she is having a great time playing and wrestling most of the day, when of course they are not snuggled up in a big puppy pile dreaming of their forever families and future lives full of adventure ahead of them. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   t o see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Maggie-Pierce is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $300. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FLISS was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Fliss is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 2 September 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 42 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. FLISS was really scared when she first arrived and wanted to keep her distance, which considering all that she has been through leaving her country and rescue and arriving in America is to be expected. She shares a kennel with her amputee friend, KAI who has helped her settle and gain confidence and within just a few days she was charging around playing with him and has been letting me pet her and rub her neck and scratch her ears, which she really likes. She will most likely be scared when going to her new home, as most dogs are so we are looking for a family who understands and can be patient and give her time to adapt.  Sight hounds do need a good amount of exercise, they tend to have bursts of energy, like Greyhounds and so a relatively active family is needed and one that can give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Story
Are you looking for the perfect partner? If so, this little lovebug will be the perfect addition. Shep is a sweet, lovable, cuddly 6 year old Collie Mix of some sort who spent his entire life at a commercial breeding facility. This has not brought him down. Shep is a little shy at first but loves to be pet and cuddled by his family. He loves people but not loud noise so he's looking quiet home with no children where he can have all your attention. All this boy wants is loved! He bonds quickly and showers his owner with all the love and affection he has. He is house trained and doesn't seem to shed, but we wouldn't consider him hypoallergenic. He hasn't quite mastered stairs yet (they are just too scary) so a home where he can be comfortable downstairs or a ranch would be ideal. Shep needs to loose a little weight and loves to be outside so a home with a fenced in yard where he can explore or a quiet neighborhood where you can walk him is a must. His ideal weight is about 55 pounds so he has about 10 more pounds to go. If you give him a chance, he will be the perfect addition to your family. Shep is UTD on vaccines, spayed, chipped and ready for her forever family! If you think that could be you, please visit zoeshouserescue.com to apply. *Please note, only apps submitted through our site are received and reviewed. Do not apply through 3rd party sites like Petfinder. Kennel #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608
