Story
Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Liliana is an absolutely stunning collie mix who is about 3 years old and weighs 40 lbs. She is great with other dogs and cats but kind of sticks to herself for the most part. She has access to the 40 acres of property here and is allowed to roam freely as she doesn't run away or stray far from the house. She prefers being outside so she gets to hang outside as much as she wants but is allowed to come inside anytime she wants. So she will definitely need a home with a yard, not an apartment. She is quiet (I don't think I've ever heard her bark) and not high energy but could absolutely handle hikes and other high energy activities. She is a great, easy-going, low-maintenance dog. She follows off leash when we go on group walks around the property but also does well on the leash. She does well in the crate. Due to her preference of being outside 95% of the time, she may need some re-training in terms of potty training in an environment where she spends more time inside, but this is just an assumption as she has never had an accident inside. She is also super smart so teaching her anything is a cake-walk. Liliana was dumped with her newborn puppies on a dirt road in the middle of winter. Luckily someone spotted her on the side of the road in the brush so I went and got her. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Seattle/Tacoma) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus) - Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 2, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative), tested and negative for tick-borne diseases (lyme, ehrlichia, and anaplasma) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
I've raised Maverick since he was 6 months old. He is currently 3 years old. Mav is a very happy and active dog who loves to run and play keep away with is toys. He really enjoys licking and will constantly lick your face if you let him. He is crate trained and is use to staying in his kennel for longer periods of time. I am hoping to find a new home that can support his active style and give him the attention he requires.

Story
Meet Clifford. His road to POOCH was a bit meandering and bumpy. HE’s experienced a lot of different environments in his 11 short months of life. First found as a stray in California, he went into the shelter system, was pulled into a rescue, then went to an adult prison dog program where he was trained for a few months before being adopted to a home in Oregon. His adoptive home did not end up being a good fit through no fault of his own. When Cliff first came to us he was very scared and shut down. We are watching him blossom as he interacts with his doggy friend, Vivienne. The youth are slowly building trust and rapport with him. Cliff is starting to show some interest in toys. He’s got his sit, stay, and down cues dialed, and he walks well on a leash. Characteristics: Shy & nervous at first Gains confidence from his dog friends, especially Vivienne Likes to play with other dogs Does not like hugging THINGS TO BE AWARE OF Has been bounced around from a shelter to a rescue to a prison program in California to an adopted home and now to POOCH. He WILL need time to settle into a new home and know that his life isn’t going to be upended again. Could do really well with another dog in the home to continue to learn from and gain confidence from. He and Vivienne could be good buddies together if you are looking for two dogs. If you are interested in Clifford, check out his listing at Project POOCH and submit an application. Link: https://www.pooch.org/clifford DETAILS Breed: Who knows?? Sex: Neutered Male Size: 45 lbs Age: Appx. 11 months
