Available in TX Meet Louise, the lovable Collie mix with a heart as vast as the Texas sky. Rescued from uncertainty, Louise's story is one of resilience and affection. Her gentle nature shines through in her unwavering love for people; she craves affection and thrives on human touch. But it's not just people she adores-her heart extends to every canine companion she meets, finding joy in playful romps and tail-wagging friendships. Louise's loyalty knows no bounds; she sticks close to her family, her unwavering devotion evident in her excellent recall skills. House and kennel trained, she's a model of canine etiquette. Yet, her past shadows linger, and she seeks solace in the company of other dogs, finding comfort and confidence in their presence. Her journey to healing is ongoing, as she learns to navigate the world she was once isolated from as a puppy. Story
Sweet Cosmo, He clearly hasn't been a pet before but he was born to be a humans best friend. He is a little shy first getting to know you, but in just a few short days he has learned that being a house dog is the best thing ever. He loves other dogs, loves toys (and loves ripping them up), is learning about fetch and tricks for treats, but his favorite thing of all is snuggling with a person on the sofa. He so far has been low drive and medium energy (low energy for a collie), but is gaining strength and is able to run and play longer as he gains weight. Still unsure about the concept of a leash but is more confident with another dog beside him. He is overall a wonderful, even tempered, sweet boy who is a perfect mix of playful and snuggily. As he learns more about his new home he would probably enjoy a dog sport but he is not high energy or drive. He really, really, really wants to be a pet and to be cherished. He could do dog sports probably, but really we think he might be more of a walks, hikes, toys in the yard, and snuggles kind of dog. Cosmo is approximately 9 months, is mostly crate trained, and can go 3 or 4 hours before deciding he needs a person again. He has had only one accident despite likely not being in a house before, and hasn't barked once. Cosmo LOVES being brushed. His foster gave him a big brush to get the dead fur out and he didn't want me to stop! Anyone would be very lucky to have Cosmo in their lives and love given to him will be returned 1000 fold. Cosmo is being fostered in Corvallis, OR. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $400. To apply go to: https://www.herduneededahome.com/adopt-a-dog. Story
Howdy, I’m Maple! Maple is a young, petite, female, Australian cattle dog, currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. Maple is a very, very fun and exuberant dog. She skateboards, hikes, does agility, and likes to just hang out. So, what adjectives best describe Maple? She is smart, curious, happy, energetic, has personality plus, athletic, fun, funny, up for anything, and a great hiking companion. Maple’s ideal home would be on acreage with a fully fenced area for her to play in safely without worry of her being able to escape. Her ideal adopter(s) would be an outdoorsy person/people with an active lifestyle. She will need an owner who is willing to continue working on impulse control (not running out the door, staying, waiting for permission in general). Once Maple gets a good workout, she settles in the house nicely for a nap. Maple is crate trained and she sleeps, eats and rides in a crate. She loves learning tricks and is easy to train. Maple is currently being fostered in Eugene, Oregon. She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated and ready to find her forever home. If you are interested in Maple, please contact hunahapps@gmail.com or find our application here: http://herduneededahome.com/hunah-dog-adoption-application-form/. Adoption fee $400.

Story
Hi, I`m Bolt! I`m about 2 months old and weigh 13 lbs.I am a young puppy and I still have a lot to learn! I need a family that has time to train me and interact with me. My new family should be prepared to take me to puppy training classes to help me master the basics. It is important for me to continue socializing so I grow up to love children, adults and other animals.Greenhill is committed to my continued growth and success, which is pretty cool! For this to happen, my post adoption training is crucial. It is very important to consider puppy training classes and to educate yourself on proper training techniques as to ensure my best upbringing.I came into the shelter as a surrender and the above information is all recommendations based on my previous history and the behavior seen at the shelter. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I`m looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503.
