Story
Shanel is such a happy good dog. She is an ideal family dog at 6 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. Due to some family issues she needed to find a new home. But she got lots of love and was raised in a home with children and other dogs. She is good with other dogs and loves to play. She walks well on a leash and loves to go exploring. She especially loves human affection and would be an amazing companion. She loves meeting new people and dogs and truly is one of the happiest and friendliest dogs we have met. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, and in good health. She has no separation anxiety and would do well in almost any home - as long as it is filled with love. If you live in Ontario within 3 hours of Toronto and would like to meet her and get to know more about her and our foster to adopt program, please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Cleo, short for Cleopatra—the beautiful girl with deep, soulful brown eyes full of love. Cleo is a two-year-old Shepherd-Collie mix, and she found herself at the shelter through no fault of her own. She quickly became a staff favorite thanks to her wonderful temperament and outgoing spirit. Cleo is great with other dogs, adores people, and loves cuddles, hugs, and going for walks. She is fully vetted, spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and has her kennel cough vaccine. Cleo is so sweet and kind. Her foster says that she loves to sleep on her bed, cuddle with her on the sofa, and follows her around as a wonderful companion. At the park she loves to play with the other dogs, run around and exploring. Cleo is an absolute dream. So if you’re looking for the perfect companion then Cleo is your girl. She would make a fantastic addition to any family 💕 If you live in Ontario, please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com to learn more about her and our foster to adopt program.`

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BLISSFUL came into rescue from a backyard breeder along with her sisters (Grateful and Thankful. She’s had her first and second vaccines, a microchip and been deemed a healthy girl by her vet and ready to find her loving family. We were told her parents are Collie/Mastiff mixes of around 55-69lbs but it’s just a guess on the weight she’ll grow to be. This loveable, happy girl loves people and gets very excited when she meets new people and especially so with people she already knows.  BLISSFUL is crate trained and sleeps soundly in it at night and will also nap in it quietly during the day. She loves to play with a variety of toys and especially likes the ones that squeak and roll around. Tug-of-war with a rope toy is one of her favourite things to do but of course she does likes to win. Housetraining is going very well and she hasn’t had an accident in the home              for a couple of weeks now but she is taken outside often. She’s quite food motivated and currently uses a slow feeder for her meals to help her slow down when she eats. We do recommend that she be fed in her crate if other dogs are in the home until she learns to slow down when eating. She loves her treats and has been easy to give basic training to due to her love of food.  BLISSFUL’s ideal family is an active one who will take her on lots of walks and hikes on the trails to help her burn iff that puppy energy.?She’s adventurous so would always be up for one especially seeing as she travels so well in a vehicle she would always be up for one. She’s fostered with a large dog and loves to play with him but when he’s had enough of her puppy antics he’ll let her know and she heeds his cues. She hasn’t met a cat but if they’re dog savvy and a slow, monitored introduction is done then they should get along okay. She requires a fenced-in yard as she loves to run around and play outside (under supervision) and it will also keep her safe.  Children should be aged 6 and up and be caring, gentle and loving towards animals. They also need to understand that puppies will chase, nibble on toes and generally be very playful. BLISSFUL’s spay is included in the adoption fee and as per our rescue agreement must be performed by the time she hits 6 months of age. If preferred, the adopter can use their own vet and we’ll reimburse what we would’ve paid for it if it was performed at the Barrie SPCA as we use them for our spay/neuters. We just need a copy of the invoice and a picture of the pet (preferably in a cone or onesie) to do so. We also need her adopter to be in agreement to sign her up for obedience/puppy training in order to adopt her.  If you’re interested in BLISSFUL and would like to meet her then please submit an adoption application to do so. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 18, 2024, 10:48 pm

Story
I'm Bandit, and I'm on a journey to find a forever family that will appreciate my loyalty and dedication. While I've had my share of challenges, I'm working hard on becoming the best version of myself, and I'm ready for the next adventure in life. I was surrendered to Dog Tales because I was protective of my family. It takes me some time to warm up to new people, but I've been putting in the effort and making lots of progress in my training. I'm a smart pup who's eager to learn and please my humans. I need a family who is committed to continuing my training journey, and I promise to give it my all. With the right guidance, I know I can be the best companion you've ever had. I can be selective with dogs, so it's important that any potential canine companions are a good fit for my personality. Plenty of playtime and fetch sessions are a must—I absolutely love playing with my people. I'm always ready for the next adventure. Whether it's a game of fetch, a hike in the woods, or simply enjoying quality time together, I'm up for it. I'm excited to share my love, loyalty, and intelligence with a family who will appreciate all that I have to offer. If you're willing to invest time and effort into helping me become the best dog I can be, then I'm ready to be your dedicated companion. Together, we can create a future filled with love, training successes, and exciting adventures.

Story
This energetic boy is looking for a confident and active owner. Bairn is high energy and loves to keep busy! He enjoys going for runs, long walks, swimming and cuddling with his people. Bairn thrives with constant training and loves to learn new things - he is such a smarty pants! He is reactive to new people, dogs and some vehicles; he will need to be walked on a muzzle as a precaution. Bairn’s reactivity is decreased greatly with a combination of: draining his energy, always keeping distance from triggers, positive reinforcement for good behaviour, and constant training on his walks to occupy his mind and keep him in control. Bairn will need a dedicated owner to continue this with him long term. Bairn is not friendly with new people and will need slow controlled interactions when introducing him to a new person. Once he can trust you, he is a lovable and goofy guy. Patience and understanding can go a long way with Bairn and, in time, he will prove he is the best boy! He is only suitable in a house with a fully fenced yard with no small children or other dogs.
