Story
Meet Jewel – The Snuggle Pro! Looking for a loving, loyal, snugly companion? Jewel is your girl! This 3-year-old Aussie mix (best guess) is a certified couch potato and professional cuddle bug. Weighing just 36 pounds, she’s the perfect size for any home or apartment. Jewel’s perfect day includes belly rubs, gentle walks, and soaking up all the love she can get. She’ll even place her paw on you to ask for more pets. House-trained and great on a leash, Jewel is friendly and curious with both people and other dogs when out and about. She charms everyone she meets with her sweet, soulful eyes and affectionate nature. Jewel would thrive as the only pup in the home to get all of your love and attention or with an adopter willing to help her learn trust and boundaries around other dogs inside the home, as she loves her cozy spaces and prefers other dogs give her space while she is resting as she is still decompressing from shelter life. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will shower you with love, Jewel is ready to be your perfect match. Jewel is currently being fostered in Staten Island. Her adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Hi!  My name is Susie and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my 4 puppies were surrendered to a scary place called a shelter by our owners.  All of my puppies got adopted and then I ended up on something bad called "the list".  Fortunately for me, a nice lady with a local rescue saw me and sprung me from that place; she then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I appear to be a mix of collie and not sure what else, but whatever I am mixed with my foster mom says I'm a super sweet girl 'cause all I want is to be with you and get some loving.  Before coming to my BCAA foster, my previous foster mom had grandkids over and said I was real good with them, too.  They all gave me lots of treats and food (maybe a little too much as I'm now on a diet to get my girlish figure back).  I am aroud 5years old so I'm past all of that puppy foolishness, and I'm currently 57 pounds.  I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but just give me a little time and some TLC and I will be your friend forever.  I have gotten along with the other medium/small dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats that I've encountered.  I've done super good in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding, but I would definitely prefer to be out cuddling with you.  I love my food and treats which I take gently.  I've done good on leash but do pull some in my excitement on being out with you.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter.
