Story
If you are looking to add a dog to your family, Carmel is definilty a great choice. He would be a great friend to another playful dog that you may have, or he would also be fine as the only dog. Carmel is under 1 yr old, 45 lbs., neutered and up to date on vaccines, Very affectionate, Playful, Friendly to everyone, is good with other playful dogs, would be good with a dog savoy cat. We believe he is a Collie mix. He is Housebroken, Crate trained and Knows to sit for treats. He is learning to walk on a leash and also learn other commands, like Wait and Paw and Look at Me. He needs a secure yard, (5 ft + fencing) Everyone who meets him just loves him, and He loves everyone, and is so affectionate. He loves to play, and would be a good companion for an active family with another dog he could play with. He absolutely loves toys, especially Rope toys and balls. He has no toy or food aggression. He just loves belly rubs. WJVA will pay for some of training for him with whoever Fosters or Adopts, to make him an even better dog. Email: wjvolunteers@yahoo.com with any questions about Carmel or about our Foster and Adoption programs. Carmel comes with a training session paid by WJVA. WJVA is responsible for all Carmel's needs while in a Foster Home, Foster family supplies the Love and Care.

Quinten is a very loveable boy who was abused in his very short life. so he does have a bite history. A familiy with no small children or other animals will be best for this boy..He's a loving loyal dog once he settles in Needs a single family home because he becomes protective of his owners He must have a leaded, someone that shows authority. He will need to adjust slowly as of his abused history please give Quinten a chance

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Collie Cattle Dog

Female, 4 mos
Philadelphia, PA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They aren't very loud, do not bark a bunch unless playing. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. Very sweet group that would do well with any type of family. They will probably do well with some exercise but a yard isn’t necessary if walked enough. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures.
