Story
Female, 7 years old, 51 lbs. Personality: Trustworthy, serious, independent, adaptable and protective. Introducing Tallulah, the companion you've been dreaming of! This gentle girl has a heart full of love and a laid-back attitude that makes her the best cuddle buddy. Tallulah enjoys the simple pleasures in life-whether it's curling up beside you for a cozy nap, basking in the sun, or soaking up attention from her favorite humans, she brings joy and warmth to the home. Tallulah's sweet nature makes it easy for her to connect with people, and she has a knack for finding her favorite cozy spots to unwind. Plus, she has a spotless record of no accidents in the house. Tallulah is a loving and affectionate dog who enjoys her time with people. She's learned a variety of words like "sit, "stay, "down, "quiet, "paw, "go to bed, and "breakfast. She is perfecting sharing affection and toys, and would do best in a home without other dogs or young children. Tallulah has a great record with house training and she's also crate-trained. If you're looking for a loving, gentle dog to be your best friend, Tallulah is ready to steal your heart! ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

She is a young and sweet South Carolina girl on the hunt for her forever home. She can be a little shy with people, but warms up quickly and once she does, you'll have a true friend in Apple. Apple can be a bit dog selective and likely would do best in a home where she is the only dog. Despite her initial shyness, Apple has a lot of unconditional love and loyalty to give. She's just waiting for that special someone who will be hers forever. Could that person be you? Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. I am a very smart gal, full of energy and enthusiasm for life and a good play session. Not only am I friendly with dogs, I absolutely love people and attention. I know my name and some basic commands, and I am very food motivated, so training is a fun play session for me, as I will be all ears (and nose) looking to please you! I could use some leash training as I am a very enthusiastic walker, and a bit strong, but I am learning the basics. I love children too, but I am prone to jumping up on people to give them hugs and love, so I might unintentionally knock over a little one. So, I do need encouragement to keep four on the floor. I will need an active home, preferably with a fenced back yard, but I also like to cuddle, and I promise to bring joy, laughter, and an endless supply of love into your life. Adopt me, and let's create wonderful memories together!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. Story
Cassidy found herself on the euthanasia list at a local shelter. Not because she had anything wrong with her, but just because the shelters are currently so overwhelmed. Luckily, we were able to find a foster for her and it turns out she is a great girl! At 6 years old, she is settled, housebroken, crate-trained, and has good house manners. We haven’t yet seen her around kids, but have no reason to believe she wouldn’t be OK with them. She likes most dogs as long as they realize she isn’t a young playful pup anymore and would rather just hang out with them rather than roughhouse. She likes to follow her people around and hang out with them. If you would like to make Cassidy a part of your family, please fill out an app! My Profile Age and weight: I'm 6 years old and weigh 38 pounds Good with kids: Unknown Good with dogs: Some dogs Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes. Crate trained: Yes Barks when left alone: I’ll bark when you leave, but then I’ll settle down Chews inappropriate items: No Training: I know 'Sit.' Is there more? Activity level: Medium Meet Me If you are interested in Cassidy, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Cassidy will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.

Story
To learn more about Colleen, please get in touch with tanab16@icloud.com Meet the black beauty, Colleen the Collie! Although she's not a purebred Collie, her mix certainly contains lots of it. This is presented in her beautiful coat and little white paws. The good news is she likes pets, so you can feel just how soft her coat is. Colleen has settled in well to her foster home. She is coming around but will need some extra time, space, and patience to blossom. Ideally, she needs a home that will understand that she will need a little TCL to come out of her shell. She loves other dogs, to run and play chase, sleeps well at home, and loves a good cuddle.
