Story
Inga has been overlooked for far too long. She's an absolute lover, and a brainiac! She knows more than your average pup - sit, down, stay, place, touch, back up, shake, kennel up, roll over, spin, and the list goes on! If she doesn't know it yet, it will take her no time at all! She's also been started in sport dog training! She catches a disc, has medium food drive, and high toy drive. She knows catch, leave it, center, heel, out, take, and drop it (if you're a sports person, you know how tricky those can be to master)! She would thrive with someone as smart and active as she is, but don't let her enthusiasm fool you, she's a perfect snuggle buddy and has an excellent off switch and can be calm in her kennel for longer periods of time if needed. She's just the best! The adoption fee is currently waived. She is also receiving training from Good Dog Enrichment and Training, who will support her training for life! For anyone looking for a lost pet or considering adoption or fostering, we encourage you to make regular visits to the shelter. Please note that this website is updated every 24 hours and may not include all the animals available at CARE STL. If you are interested in a specific dog, such as (name of dog), we invite you to stop by the CARE STL Adoption Center located at 2700 Walnut Pl, 63103. I want A "FUR"ever" HOME!  Read the FULL Bio to see where I am located and contact info:    2024082   Say hello to our good boy Bert!  Bert is around a year old, 38lbs collie mix.  Bert and his sister was picked up by animal control.  They had  showed up at someone's house and their owner never came looking for them. Well their loss is our gain. Bert is a sweetheart.   He keeps his kennel clean, always happy to see anyone and does not complain.   Bert is good with other dogs and knows how to sit. Story
SHIPSEY Hey, I'm Shipsey! Check me out, I'm an absolute sweetheart! I'm 1.5 years old, a female with a unique mix of collie, pitty, and hound. I've got the sweetest personality and I just LOVE my toys and sunbathing in the yard! Here's the scoop on me: Super sweet and affectionate-major snuggler alert! Already potty and crate-trained, so I've got those basics down. Good with dogs, but I'd do best in a home with older kids. I've got moderate energy, so I like to play but also know how to chill. A yard is a must for me because I love to stretch my legs and enjoy the outdoors! Eager to please-so I'm always ready to learn and make my humans proud! I'm currently living with a foster and loving life, but I keep hearing that I deserve a forever family of my own. I've got these beautiful white socks on my front paws and a lovely white chest that makes me stand out from the crowd. Story
Nancy is a young Australian cattle dog who would just love to sit on your lap and be cuddled all day. She’s smart and full of personality with spurts of play time then lots of chill time.  Nancy is about 3 or 4 years old. She is completely house trained and is excellent in her crate. She’s good on a leash and knows several commands including “sit” and “kennel.” She is particularly motivated if treats are involved! Nancy loves other dogs but can get pretty rowdy when she plays. She would be great with a dog buddy as long as the dog is accepting, playful, and not easily offended by silly antics. One of Nancy’s favorite things is to talk to all her favorite toys. Nancy needs a home with a fenced-in yard and would prefer someone who has herding dog experience. No kids under 10 please. Nancy is being fostered in the St. Louis area. ##1270950##

Story
Gabriel came to us from a rural shelter in the Carolinas. This young dog had been seriously injured after being hit by a car. The impact broke his leg and caused his eye to pop out. Although veterinarians were able to save his eye, he wasn’t able to see out of it, so it eventually had to be removed. He has recovered quickly from that procedure as well as surgery to fix his leg. Although Gabriel is only a couple years old, he totally acts like a puppy. He is extremely curious, energetic, and playful, but also loves to snuggle. He adores playing tug, thinks chew toys are fantastic, and has a blast with stuffed toys and his Jolly Ball. Gabriel is doing great with potty training and is working on leash and crate manners. He’s a quick learner and knows sit, kennel up, and hush. He is goofy and can be rowdy, but he totally wants to be a good boy. Gabriel is good with dogs that like to play as hard as he does. He needs a home with a fenced-in yard. He’d be fine as an only dog or would have fun with a well-matched dog pal. He’d love a family who might be interested in dog sports or other fun activities and who will spend time continuing to teach him how to be a great dog.  Gabriel wants to play and wants to be loved and cuddled. He certainly deserves it after his traumatic experiences. He’s being fostered in the St. Louis area. ##1864447##

Story
Tod is a total love bug. This 1-year-old cattle dog constantly looks for affection and is happy to have pets and cuddles, hugs and kisses. He is constantly on the move and loves to play – either by himself or with toys or with his canine foster brother. He’s very good at fetch and is incredibly smart. He could do well with agility, dog sports, or just the fun of an active family that will take him out and about on adventures. Tod is deaf and is learning hand signals. He knows “sit” and “down” and is working on “stay” and “shake.” He is very tuned in to his person and pays attention. He’s so smart and very eager to please. Tod walks really well on a leash, is great in his crate, and is potty trained. Tod would thrive in a home where someone is experienced with the brains and energy level of herding dogs. He needs an active family, a physical, fenced yard, and someone who is around much of the day. He could be an only dog but would love another energetic dog who loves to wrestle and play. Tod is very polite with his things and is happy to share. He has absolutely no concept of personal space and wants to be next to you, cuddling or sitting on your lap. He is the sweetest boy and just wants to be loved. Tod is being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##2181389##
