This mellow, house-trained senior girl loves staying close to her people and would thrive in a quiet home that can support her slower pace and mobility needs. Kirby is a 11-year-old Rough Collie whose sweetness and easygoing nature shine through in everything she does. She’s fully house trained, rarely vocal, and content with a simple routine that includes short, regular walks and plenty of couch time. Kirby prefers to stay near her adults, soaking up gentle affection and companionship rather than high-energy play. She’s learning to loosen up and play a bit from her foster siblings, but her favorite role is quiet, loyal shadow. Due to significant muscle loss in her rear legs, Kirby has difficulty with stairs and getting up, so she needs a home that can accommodate her mobility challenges. She’s doing better with supportive care and supplements, but still benefits from a safe, stable environment where she can move at her own pace. A fenced yard is always desirable but she doesn’t require it as long as she gets age-appropriate exercise. Kirby moves carefully around seniors and would be an ideal match for a calm, patient household ready to offer her comfort, consistency, and love in her golden years.

With a playful spirit and a knack for training, she responds well to positive reinforcement, particularly when treats like hot dogs or string cheese are involved. Although she can be a bit stubborn, her charming personality shines through as she engages with her foster family. Libby is fully house-trained and crate-trained, making her an ideal companion for families with children aged 5 and up. Libby requires a secure yard and would thrive in a single-family home or larger space. While she's friendly with other dogs, she needs to be in a cat-free environment due to her strong prey drive. Her foster family is currently working on her vocalization and reactivity to loud noises. With the right training and love, Libby is sure to become a cherished member of her forever family.

Ginger is a 9 mo. old Cattle Dog mix who was adopted from PAWS in June of 2025. Unfortunately, the family cat is not doing well with Ginger so they are hoping to find a cat-free home. Ginger would do best with another dog in the home with a fenced in yard. She is full of spirit and adventure, has completed 2 puppy classes, knows many commands and is an AKC Puppy Star. She loves her kiddie pool in the summer but also loves snow! Due to her herding nature, we prefer a home without small children. Ginger is housetrained and crate trained. We are looking for an active home as Ginger is an active dog needing daily exercise and is eager to learn.Please submit an application at pawshs.org and NOT a Petfinder inquiry as they may not be answered due to the volume of these inquiries received. Our adoption fees include the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccinations (including rabies for cats / dogs over 4 months of age), flea prevention, worming, FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm test for dogs over 1 yrs old, and microchipping.
