Pauly was found as a stray and spent some time with animal control until he was liberated by CRGI. This charming boy has a gentle disposition and a heart full of love. Pauly is a true snuggle bug. He thrives on being close to his people. He enjoys playing fetch although he might need a little reminder to bring the ball back! He loves balls, stuffed animals, and chew sticks. At times he has bursts of energy, especially when welcoming guests into the home. Pauly knows several commands including sit and shake, and he has good recall. He walks well on a leash and does much better when not walking with another dog. He gets along well with his Golden Retriever foster brother, but his play can be a bit rough. This usually happens when Pauly is overstimulated, and his foster is working on this with him. He's smart and can be easily redirected with treats. However, no amount of treats will help him get along with cats, so a feline free household is a must. Pauly experiences some separation anxiety. While he doesn’t destroy things when left alone, he does get nervous and would do best in a home where someone is often around. Pauly needs a home where his new family will continue to help him learn to settle and relax. He is very trainable and food motivated. A family that understands his need for closeness and can provide him with the comfort and stability he craves would be perfect. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Pauly could be the perfect addition to your home. Give this sweet boy a chance, and he'll reward you with endless affection and devotion.

Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required Thor is a very sweet tri-colored ten month old boy. Loving and attentive, he follows his foster mom and dad through the house and loves to relax near them. A typical young, playful boy, Thor loves to interact and goof around with other dogs. He’s learning how to play with toys but hasn't quite gotten the hang of playing catch! He loves to run around and play a chase game with the resident collie so a fenced yard would be desirable to keep him safe. He has been learning to walk in a leash, and is doing a great job, for such a young boy. Thor was unfamiliar with stairs, and is working hard on conquering them. He's still a bit hesitant and awkward going down, but he's determined to master this! He's also working on basic commands and really enjoys training time. We don't know how he'd be with cats and children over the age of eight would probably be best. Thor would love a family with another playful canine and at least one person who is home a lot and willing to give him a lot of attention, affection, and continue teaching him. Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required Lovely Luna came to us as part of a group of wonderful smoothies. She is a very gentle girl who knows how to ask for affection with a soft nudge. She will approach her family looking for pets and sweet talk and in return will lavish them with kisses. She affectionately greats visitors as well. If she’s not with her people, you’ll likely find this snuggle bug curled up in bed. Luna is very treat motivated and has learned many commands. Additionally, she plays well with toys and with the foster family’s dogs. She walks well on a leash and travels well in the car once she’s been encouraged to get in. Luna can be easily frightened, so it will be important to provide her with confidence building activities and to slowly introduce her to new people and things. She would benefit from basic obedience training using positive reinforcement and a soft approach. Once Luna is comfortable in the environment, she warms right up and eagerly seeks love and attention. I'm a little sad and a little confused about why I haven't heard from my Forever yet, but I know you are out there, somewhere. I know I'm not a Lassie type, but I am a real Collie - just the short-coated kind. That just means that I won't have any of those annoying knots to brush out all the time, and I think that's a big plus. I am rough-factored which gives me more hair than lots of smooths, if it helps! So, I'm a two-year- old tri colored male. I live with a bunch of other collies now and get along fine after a good introduction. I've learned not to chase cats (kinda), but squirrels and bunnies are fair game so a fenced yard is a must. I'm getting used to neighborhood noises but wouldn't mind a quieter home away from that nonsense, either. I do have a strong personality and a deep voice but underneath I can be a real softie. I'm on the fence about kids - individually they can be ok, but in a group, maybe not so much. I'm athletic, love taking really long walks and toys are great - I even play fetch! I'm really hoping that my Forever sees this - I'm waiting for you, friend!

He likes to run around the yard playing with toys, but then he will come inside and crash on the couch with you and maybe want to cuddle, or he might just take a nap. He really likes naps. Gavin is great with other dogs, but what he really wants is to be around people. All. The. Time. Even if it’s just hanging out watching TV, he wants to be by your side. If you leave him alone, he might whine, or he will look for things to keep himself busy, and he’s not always sure which items belong to him. He has been known to poke his head into bags and boxes or jump up on counters, and help himself to whatever strikes his fancy, so supervision and guidance are definitely needed. This silly boy always has his foster family laughing. When Gavin gets excited, he will run around, and once he jumped over the back of the 3’ high couch without even thinking about it. He can entertain himself by throwing toys around with his mouth, and then jumping after them, which then makes him so excited that he just wants to run around doing laps around the house or yard. Gavin is great when riding in a car. He needs some assistance getting onto the seat, but he settles in nicely and will take a nap if there is time. He doesn’t appreciate bumps, and will sit up and let you know of his dissatisfaction. It’s a good thing he can’t provide a review of his driver. Gavin’s easygoing disposition makes him a fit for just about any family. He loves being involved with what his people are doing, and he’s looking for a forever home that is willing to let him join in on their fun.

Meet Lincoln....... Lincoln is an adorable young boy, thought to be a Border Collie Mix. Like Border Collies, he’s very smart, a quick learner, very alert and quite energetic!! At age 9 months, he weighs 38 lbs. It is most important to note that we cannot be 100% sure of his adult weight, but our best guess is about 40ish lbs. This handsome boy joined BAARK from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky earlier this year. He is thought to have been born around December 23, 2022. He was a scared little puppy when entering our rescue program but has come out of his shell and has evolved into a playful, sociable, and somewhat mischievous boy. Lincoln is great with dogs outside of his foster home, but can be protective of his home and human, indoors. Most likely Lincoln would prefer being an only dog, receiving all the attention he deserves. However he could to ok with a calm easy-going female. He would probably be far too energetic for a senior (dog or human!) An ideal family for Lincoln is one able to assimilate the energy of a young boy into its lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Lincoln to be his best self! A secure, above-ground fenced yard is important. Lincoln would not thrive as an apartment dweller. Lincoln is crate-trained and is working on good house manners (housebreaking). He is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on heartworm preventative. He is neutered and microchipped as well. . Libby is sure a unique-looking young girl; how can anyone not love her huge ears!! She is thought to be an Australian Kelpie Mix (possibly with Bull Terrier). She weighs about 30 lbs. Her estimated date of birth is June 5th 2023. Libby is a typical puppy, very energetic and playful. She likes to jump and can sometimes forget herself and be a little too rough with other dogs. But….…she is young and needs to learn boundaries and manners in order to evolve into a wonder family member with a forever family she so deserves.. This sweet pup likes playing with other dogs; she’s great with dogs and would enjoy the companionship of another dog in the home. Most likely, a young or middle-aged adult dog would prefer his company much more so than a senior dog. An ideal family for Libby is one able to assimilate the enthusiasm and playfulness of a puppy into their lifestyle and is willing to commit the time to working with and training Libby to be her best self! A secure fenced yard is required; another younger or middle-aged pup in the family could also be advantageous. Libby is crate-trained and is working hard to improve her house manners (housebreaking).
