Story
Meet Tumbes, a beautiful 2-year-old Collie/Hound mix who came to Big Dog Ranch from the Fitzgerald Humane Society in Georgia along with his five siblings and mom—all of whom have been adopted. Now it's Tumbes’ turn to find the right home where he can truly thrive. He has been adopted before but was returned because he struggled to get along with the children in the home. Because of this, Tumbes will do best in a calm, adult-only environment with a patient, experienced owner—especially someone familiar with hound or herding breeds. Tumbes is a high-energy pup who loves to stay active, play with toys, and go for walks. He’s already learned his basic commands and walks well on a leash. While he can be dog selective, he does enjoy the company of the right canine friends. Cats, however, are not a good fit for this guy due to his strong prey drive. Though he may be shy or reserved at first, once he warms up to you, Tumbes becomes a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys cuddling and one-on-one time. Tumbes is looking for a stable, understanding home where he can continue building confidence and enjoying life as a loyal and energetic best friend. Could that be with you?

Story
Jack is a handsome Australian Cattle Dog (also known as a Blue Heeler). He loves attention and is incredibly smart for a 1-year-old pup so a home that can provide enrichment and socialization for this breed is important. Jack is about 40lbs, but looks smaller and he has a gorgeous merle coat. He is well mannered at the shelter and goes potty outside on his walks. Volunteers enjoy walking him and he shows off his knowledge of basic commands like sit. Jack does well with most dogs after he is properly introduced to them. He is a happy pup that would do well with many types of families including those with kids. Jack is vaccinated, microchipped and will be neutered soon before going home. To adopt Jack, complete an adoption application at AbandonedPetRescue.org Abandoned Pet Rescue is a no-kill animal shelter located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. To meet this adoptable pet, please fill out an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org and a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment.
