Story
Bear is a 1 year old Aussie or Collie (we’re guessing) mix. He is as sweet as can be and very curious. He was found emaciated and covered in ticks and fleas. His family was not able to be located, so his finder contacted us. He’s now flea and tick free, is super soft after his bath and ready to gain weight! He’s currently 45lbs. Bear is heartworm and parvo negative, is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is crate and house trained (with a doggy door). He is cat curious, and friendly with dogs and everyone he’s met so far! He is NOT poultry friendly. Story
Riley, born in January or February of 2015 is a tricolor, smooth coat, collie/border collie mix with some brindle markings on his legs. He has experienced 2 failed adoptions. He was adopted from us when he was about 6 months old and was returned to us 3 years later when the male member of the adoptive family, who had Alzheimer’s, became abusive toward him. In time he began developing his self-confidence again and began to lose his fear of men. Even though he was still somewhat leery of men he didn’t know, he would actually seek attention from men with whom he was familiar. He got along well with the dogs in his foster home but he behaved aggressively toward any new foster dog that periodically come in. He is not good with cats as he showed aggression toward the clinic cat at our vet’s office. Riley was adopted a second time, but after a year of trying different techniques to manage Riley’s difficult behaviors his second adopter felt that she could no longer handle him and once again Riley was returned to us. He left us weighing 55 pounds and returned, markedly overweight, at 78 pounds. He is now back to a healthy weight. Riley has had extensive training. He is quite smart and learns quickly. He rides well in a car and walks well on a leash unless he meets a dog while out on the walk, in which case he will pull and act aggressively. Riley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. Riley is located in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $415 which includes the $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Riley, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in

Story
Welcome Maizi to CCPAL Foster Program. Maizi is a 4-month-old Smooth Coated Collie/Australian Cattle dog and maybe some Pyrenees. She is about 30 pounds right now and should be 55 full grown. These pups are good with other dogs, good with kids, good in a crate and they love water. Marina is the most water dog one of this puppy litter. Dad looks like an Aussie and Border Collie and the mom looks like a Lab and Pyranees. These puppies are well cared for in their foster home. They have beautiful shiny coats and all of them are sweet and submissive. They are shy in new environments but they all warmed up quickly to affection. Maizi met all kinds of new people and she was supper sweet to everyone she met. She is not a big shedding pup and she has a gorgeous shiny coat. She would be great with an active outdoorsy family. She would love to be with a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She has all her vaccines and is taking heartworm and flea medication monthly. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
If you are looking for a show stoppingly handsome, wonderfully friendly, sweet companion, then Sammy may be your soulmate! Sammy came into the pound when his owner could no longer care for him. He lived in an apartment with him and the owner was struggling with mobility issues and could no longer walk well. He was devastated, as was Sammy, but he simply couldn’t care for him any longer. Sammy’s heart was broken to say goodbye to his owner, and then he became so scared when he entered the pound. Even though his heart was shattered and he was scared and confused, this guy was reliably so loving and kind to everyone he met. He gained many advocates during his stay at the pound and fortunately a fabulous foster home opened up with room to take this darling boy in until he finds a home to call his very own. Sammy is 2 years old and weighing about 45-50 lbs. According to his owner, which the vet agrees with, he is a gorgeous blend of smoothie collie, sight/greyhound, and lab. He is leggy and lean, and absolutely adorable! He has since had all of his medical work done including vaccines, heartworm testing, microchipping, deworming, preventative, and he’s neutered. He’s healthy, wonderful, and ready to begin his next chapter! Sammy is truly just such a good dog. He is exceptionally intelligent and so devoted and loving. He is active and he absolutely looooves to run around in his yard and play with other pups! He enjoys being outside in nature and taking in the peace of a cool breeze and birdwatching in the warmer months, and will enjoy a parks in the winter months! He absolutely loves to go for walks and hikes and he does great on a leash! For as much as he loves his time in the great outdoors, this boys favorite is a snuggle under the blankets all warm and cozy with his favorite people. He is always ready for a movie night and enjoys sleeping close to his humans. He’s had excellent manners in the house and much prefers to be free than to be in a crate. He has done well with cats though will try to play, and he has been phenomenal with other dogs. Whether they large, small, male, female, you name it he does awesome in doggy play groups and is so happy to have the companionship of pups! He has a very good natured disposition and is social and loving with everyone he meets. He’ll do fantastic in a home with a nice yard to play in (he would definitely love a doggy sibling!), and with parents who will love to have a balanced life of sofa snuggles, car rides, and walks/hikes. He has a tender, loving heart and such soulful eyes. When you meet him you can tell he truly wants to be the best boy he can be, and that his greatest joy is giving and receiving love. If you’ve fallen for this wonderful guy and would love to make him yours, please visit www.greatdivideanimalrescue.org and submit an application for adoption today!!

Story
These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
