Story
Introducing Tucker, the lovable and delightfully goofy collie! With his endearingly sweet nature and a heart of gold, what he lacks in smarts, he more than makes up for with his infectious enthusiasm and playful spirit. His charming antics and hilarious shenanigans will keep you smiling and giggling all day long. Tucker is proof that sometimes the best companions are the ones who bring joy and laughter into your life, even if they do it in their own wonderfully silly way. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 39.4 Age: 0yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
Would you like to meet your new best friend? We found "Sneaky" when she was just a puppy. She has always been a shy girl (she's a nervous with men) but she is a fun, affectionate and silly angel that we've loved watching over and sharing our life with. Recently one of our other dogs who is an alpha female has started picking on her and it's upsetting our newborn who loves to play with Sneaky and gets a LOT of kisses. Sneaky has soft, cream colored hair and is about eighteen pounds. She's just big enough to be a good companion for someone living alone to provide doggie support but small enough that you can pick her up and carry her as needed. She is very mellow inside the house and cuddles with us, when outside, she loves to run and play. She's had no issue with our other dogs or any dogs and is not the instigator of the issues, she is just shy and our other girl picks on her. We have had Sneaky for two years and love her very much. She will be an excellent dog for any family type.

Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/9/11/sophia Sophia is a sweet, spirited and playful young dog who endured a long-road to be with us here today. Sophia was originally found as a puppy with her littermates near Fairfield California last January. Sophia and her litter were brought to a local shelter and adopted out to individual families at 2-3 months of age. Unfortunately, Sophia was returned over summer at the age of 9 months, due to no fault of her own as her family’s circumstances had simply changed. Back at the shelter, Sophia began to experience what is called “kennel stress”; used to being in a home environment, the noise and isolation inside her kennel for 23.5-24 hours a day was taking it’s toil on her emotionally. Sophia still caught our eye with her playful nature, and smarts. Now, Sophia is decompressing in a foster home in SF, but her journey to forever is just beginning. She deserves the stability of a committed adopter for the rest of her life through all of life’s ups and downs. Here is more info on Sophia and what we have learned about her during her time in foster care: Loves to go “bye bye” and will jump right into the car; wonderful passenger and we can see her being a fantastic adventure buddy for future road trips, hikes, camping, etc Sophia has a great base of basics and is ready to impress you with sit, shake, and eager to learn more! She is SUPER smart and has amazing potential for someone who would like to do agility training. Good leash walking Sleeps through the night We know in Sophia’s first home she was raised with a child and a cat, but have not seen her personally around cats. Sophia’s favorite play time activity is the “flirt pole” which makes exercising her even in a smaller space doable Likes other dogs; Sophia participated in playgroups at the shelter; she has a puppy-like play style and loves to “herd” and chase her dog friends. She may be a little rough/ rambunctious in her play style for all dogs so we would definitely recommend a dog- to - dog meeting with current resident pets. Doggy play dates with dog friends would be a great activity for Sophia but she is not a dog park candidate. She has been around senior dogs who needed space, and she has taken cues from them as well. Her intros can be a bit rushed and excitable, but she is working on her neutrality on walks. She would do fine as a solo pet in the home as well. Sophia does alert bark at noises but is already learning how to “check in” with her person when the noises occur Sophia can be a little rough and mouthy meeting new people but is actively working with a trainer to learn how to greet people in a more appropriate manner We would recommend a home adults only as she has broken skin in an overly excited manner when meeting a new person early on. She has been doing much better learning to be gentle and not jump up to greet. A flexible work schedule, quiet neighborhood with a backyard would be amazing, but not all are required. Sophia may do well in a home with other pets, but we would advise animals meeting first and adopters to have plans for slow and proper integration into the home. The ideal home for Sophia will be ready for all things young dog; active adopters that can provide her with daily play/physical activity and mental stimulation would be best. Homes familiar with herding tendencies, and comfortable with large high energy dogs $250 adoption donation includes spayed, rabies, dhpp, bordatella, flea tick treated, fecal tested/dewormed, and microchipped Sophia is currently in foster in San Francisco, CA. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/11/5/dude Meet Adoptable Dude! Dude is a 40-pound mixed-breed pup bursting with playful energy and affection. This good boy is looking for an active and loving forever home! Dude was rescued by HFP with his littermates and mom last winter. He was lovingly hand raised in foster care and adopted around 3 months of age, but unfortunately didn’t find his forever home. Dude is potty trained, crate trained, leash trained for walks, and knows multiple commands. Dude has graduated from a beginner training course and has been recommended for agility training. He knows Sit, Look, Touch, Lay Down, Stay/Wait, Come, High-Five, Drop it, Take it, Leave it, and Let's Walk. Dude thrives on daily walks and lots of playtime, making him the perfect companion for an active household. He loves other dogs and would do great with a canine buddy that matches his enthusiasm. Dude currently lives with a 7 year old and while his excitement is contagious, his energetic nature might be a bit much for smaller children, so he’s best suited for a home with older kids or adults who can match his zest for life. With consistent training and plenty of love, Dude’s big personality will shine even brighter! He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and ready to bring joy to his new family. Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Bebe and I'm a 4 year old, spayed, smooth collie/German shepherd mix that currently weighs about 54 lbs. I'm an affectionate girl that starts off on the timid side. Once I'm comfortable, I enjoy belly rubs and daily walks! I'm hoping for a quiet home that understands that I am a wonderful, but sensitive lady who will need time to adjust into a new setting. Once I'm settled, I'm the epitome of good etiquette. I am calm and demure, most of the time. I've been known to be a fence climber when I want to be with my people. I love the game of chase! Especially with small critters like birds and squirrels so I prefer to be the only pet in the household. My foster family says I'm crate trained (I sleep there at night) and I've had minimal accidents in the house. I'm also a pro at sitting for treats! For more information, just ask Customer Service about Bebe! ID# A946402 Since I’m not at the adoption center, you can make arrangements to meet me by emailing your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to behavior@phs-spca.org and a staff member will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet me in person. You must be 18 or older to submit a profile.  Application: https://phs-spca.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/AdoptionProfiles_dog2023_fillin.pdf *The application may not work on mobile devices and iPads. Please call (650) 340-7022 for assistance.   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
