Story
Meet Moose, a lovable one-year-old pup currently weighing in at 33 lbs, with an ideal weight of about 40 lbs. Moose is one of the sweetest dogs you'll encounter, eager to learn and please. He's already mastered several commands, including Sit, Stay, Paw, and Wait, and there might be more he's yet to show us. Moose also enjoys balancing a treat on his forehead or nose and waiting for your command to capture it, although we're still figuring out the best treat for this fun trick! Moose has some skin issues, which we suspect are food allergies, but rest assured, they're not contagious. He needs a patient and loving home, as he has experienced some rough treatment in the past. Moose has a deep love for tennis balls and, true to his breed, is always ready to chase after one. He'll faithfully bring it back and gently place it in your hand, eager for more playtime. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to shower you with affection and love, Moose might just be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him at our shelter and see for yourself!Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.

Story
Meet Carly, a vibrant and energetic 4-year-old pup weighing in at 50 lbs. Carly is brimming with enthusiasm and adores running around. Due to her playful nature, she might be a bit overwhelming for very young children, especially since she tends to jump when excited. Carly is a smart girl and knows the "Sit" command, but she prefers to demonstrate it when there's a treat involved. Her coat is incredibly soft and requires occasional grooming, particularly behind the ears, to prevent matting. This breed thrives when both mind and body are engaged, through activities like puzzle games, daily long walks, or agility training sessions. Carly is a sweet and friendly companion, ready to bring joy to her forever home.Breed is based on physical features. All shelter animals are considered to be a mixture of breeds.

Lenny is a 2 year old Collie mix, weighing 57 pounds. He is friendly, sweet, and outgoing. He is very goofy and active. He likes to run and play tug and fetch. He knows “sit” and will do well with further training. He gets along well with most other dogs but can be dominant. He has tested well with cats. He is healthy and heartworm negative. He has been neutered. He will be microchipped at the time of adoption. Lenny would do best to go to a home with a fenced in yard or to a large SAFE property where he can get the exercise he needs. ....................................If you would like further information or would like to request an adoption application, please e-mail us directly adopt@thehss.org If you request an application and don’t receive it check your spam or junk mail file.
