Story
Sasha was found wandering our parents neighborhood. She was in need of water and food which we gave her at the edge of the property. She was very sweet and did not want to leave the property. We couldn't take her in because there was already too many dogs at the property. But after a while she just kept coming back and following us around. We noticed she was owned at one point so we attempted to find her owners with local ads and posts on offer up. After a month of no one claiming her we took her in with another dog she had acquainted. We live in a condo and the hardest part for her is not having a backyard. She loves to run and play, which makes the condo hard for her and she becomes restless. She would do well with kids or an older person who would want a companion. She is very loyal. We don't WANT to give her up but it's in her best interest to go somewhere with a backyard or somewhere to be outside.

Story
Hello, I'm Elisa. I may be a senior, but my heart is full of love to give. I'm a sweet, mellow, and gentle soul. I enjoy a short walk every day; It's my little adventure, a time to sniff around and stretch my legs. I'm a bit of a food critic, you see. I like my meals just so, but once I find something I love, I stick to it. Most of my day, you'll find me lounging around, a true couch potato. I'm house trained and well-behaved; I'm not the type to cause a fuss. I'm just looking for a loving home where I can spend my golden years. I promise to be your loyal companion, your quiet confidante, and your source of unconditional love. My adoption fee is $250 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market For more information about me or to schedule a meet and greet appointment, please complete an adoption questionnaire.

Story
Garland is a 1 year old, 40 lb, Aussie / Collie blend who joined us as a stray, and with no family coming forward he's now looking for his forever home. He's an active, high energy boy, typical for his age, who loves running and playing in our Scentral Park. He is easy to handle, and knows basic commands. He is treat motivated and learns quickly. Garland has a scar near his eye that the vet said is some sort of past trauma. If there are kids in the home, he'll be happiest with kids 12+. Garland is residing at the adoption center and would be thrilled to meet you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Dennis is a puppy with the face of a Smooth Coat Collie, the legs of a Basset Hound, and the body of an Australian Cattle Dog. - Personality: Friendly, needs companionship via other animals and/or people, intelligent, stubborn as a mule (Basset Hound), energetic, snuggly, calm, young, everything is new to him and please have empathy. - Likes: To run, to play, other dogs that play a little rough, treats, chewy bones/toys, puzzles, snuffle mats, to be chased, to snuggle and watch TV, all foods and treats, LOVES to learn. - Dislikes: Swimming, loud noises/yelling, any aggression that he witnesses or receives, being completely alone (he needs someone or something to be with him - human or animal). - Training: Sit, chews toys, potty trained, crate trained. - Needs: Training walking on leash, recall to his name. - Rehome because: There was a senile woman who attacked me on a walk. Story
Meet Rudy Girl, a 2-year-old, 45 lb all round mix looking for her forever home!   Background: Rudy Girl and her 8 month old puppy, Ivy, also at helpadogsmile.org joined us from the reservation after a resident found them alone and desperately looking for food:) She started feeding them while we worked out transportation and confirmed that they were not owned dogs. Personality: Rudy is the sweetest soul who is eager to please. She loves all dogs and food is the way to her heart. She is in group play with up to 30 dogs and seems to just match energy levels ...she likes to play but can also settle easily. Health: Rudy is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.   Training: Rudy keeps her kennel clean and should be a pro in the house as she likes to be clean.  She is comfortable wandering on a leash and with a treat will stay right with you....she is not a puller.  Ideal Home: Rudy would love a home where her family is easy and slow with her as she adjusts. She is fine with other dogs and loves to be with her people. If you are considering a pair she would love to be placed with her happy go lucky puppy, Ivy.  A secure, fenced-in yard is a must to keep her safe.   Adoption Requirements: Rudy’s adoption fee is $350. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match.
