MEET MAISIE!!! Maisie is a sweet and shy girl. She was on and saved from the euthanasia list at County for being fearful. However, it only took her two days to become comfortable with her fosters, and they say her personality continues to emerge more and more each day. Maisie is exceptionally smart. She is trained to sit, shake, sit to be be leashed, sit before meals and waits for a release cue. She is trained to potty on command. She is currently working on crate training. The door is open at all times and treats are tossed in for her to become comfortable entering/exiting the crate. Maisie is an active dog and requires at least twice daily walks or runs. She would make an excellent hiking partner as well. She is not destructive when left alone but can be vocal at times. Maisie will need daily brushing; she sheds like a German Shepard. She has shown some resource guarding when it comes to her space, her people or her treats. She is a submissive female and gets alone well with the other foster dogs. Maisie has tendencies to escape, so she is still walked in the yard on a leash for now. She is double-leashed for walks because she can be startled/interested by passing cars. She is non-reactive to passing dogs on walks. When she trusts you, she is the sweetest snuggly dog. Adopters should be aware of canine body language and recognize when she is uncomfortable with strangers. Let her approach strangers at her own pace. She is responsive to "low, side greetings." Garland is a 1 year old Aussie / Collie blend who joined us as a stray, and with no family coming forward he's now looking for his forever home. He's an active, high energy boy, typical for his age. Garland has a scar near his eye that the vet said is some sort of past trauma. If there are kids in the home, he'll be happiest with kids 12+. Garland is living at our adoption center and would love to meet you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Sunshine has been looking for a home for 278 DAYS!!! Sunshine was found in a storm drain in CA. This was the 3rd time he had ended up in the shelter. This time, his owners didn't want him back and he was going to be euthanized. Sunshine is the life of the party! Pony hopping up and down the yard, any chance he gets. He is a wildly intelligent dog. He is a big fan of other dogs, that are gentle with him. His energy is unlike anything we've ever felt. He's a very special boy. Someone described him as a "new soul" and that connected all the pieces, that's exactly what it feels like! He is almost completely deaf and has some vision impairment, more so affecting him at night. Sunshine has a smaller forebrain and cerebellum than most dogs, causing a slight wobble and unsteady gait. He just looks like he's had a few too many drinks! He's completely self-sufficient and can move and potty on his own. He loves to pickup stuffed animals and toss them around! His disability doesn't get in his way whatsoever! As far as we know, Sunny was born like this. He LOVES napping and being glued on to your lap on the couch. He's the sweetest and quietest boy we've only heard him bark less than 5 times and its the cutest noise you will ever hear. Pics don't do him justice, he's very small and loves to be carried around. Sasha was found wandering our parents neighborhood. She was in need of water and food which we gave her at the edge of the property. She was very sweet and did not want to leave the property. We couldn't take her in because there was already too many dogs at the property. But after a while she just kept coming back and following us around. We noticed she was owned at one point so we attempted to find her owners with local ads and posts on offer up. After a month of no one claiming her we took her in with another dog she had acquainted. We live in a condo and the hardest part for her is not having a backyard. She loves to run and play, which makes the condo hard for her and she becomes restless. She would do well with kids or an older person who would want a companion. She is very loyal. We don't WANT to give her up but it's in her best interest to go somewhere with a backyard or somewhere to be outside.

Maisy is a very energetic, 5 yr old Border Collie/Black Lab mix that would do well with lots of exercise. Our goal is to find a home with a good size yard and another dog that she can run and play with. She is friendly with everyone she meets, adults, kids and dogs alike. She loves to run, fetch, play with other dogs, go for walks and chew bones. She’s a smart girl and can be mischievous. Maisy uses a dog door, gets fed twice a day and has an after dinner carrot. She loves cuddling on the couch for TV time in the evening. She is definitely a companion dog as she will follow me to any room in the house. Maisy is very scent oriented and will sniff things throughout the house routinely. She digs in the yard and gets too energetic in the house. Maisy needs more exercise and active play with other dogs than we can provide. We know she would be happier in an environment that allowed her to be much more active.

Meet POLKA-DOTTA SPOTTA!! Nice to meet you! I have polka dots covering my pretty white fur. I'm just 2.5 yrs old, and am a beautiful gal looking for my very own Best Friend! Sadly, I've spent most of my life young adult life in the shelter or boarding. I would love someone to give me a chance to have a REAL home! I'm super playful and very active, which has been very hard on me in a boarding environment, so I'm hoping that my BFF will come along very soon. It is lonely here, and i would like a home of my own. I hate to put restrictions on our friendship, but i do have a few "needs" requirements. I prefer to be your only animal, as I am not real friendly with other pups. I have not been around kids in quite a long time and I'm not quite sure yet that I like them, so it would be safer for me to be in an all adult home. It does take me a while to warm up to new people, so a home that doesn't have lots of people coming and going would be best. Also, an ACTIVE home with someone who likes to run, hike or long walks would be ideal, as i really, really love to play and go for walks!! Once I warm up to my people, I'm as loyal as they come! My personality will bring tons of happiness and love into your life! Spotta will do best in a home with someone with a good amount of patience, as our little gal hasn't been in an actual home environment since a puppy. She is VERY smart and learn quick, and eager to please! He was dehydrated and so very hungry, but happily wagging his tail as soon as a rescuer approached and boosted him and his brother out of the ditch and happily hopped into their rescuer's car. He is hilarious, loves to romp around and wrestle his brother. Once he is all tuckered out, he snuggles up with his brother for a snooze. This boy is sweet as honey, loves affection and wants so much love. Please understand he has all the typical puppy energy and behaviors. He has some basic training and is house trained and doggy door trained, but will need a dedicated person to patiently teach him the ropes. If kept occupied, he is not destructive and chooses toys over things to chew on.
