Story
Hello, I'm Elisa. I may be a senior, but my heart is full of love to give. I'm a sweet, mellow, and gentle soul. I enjoy a short walk every day; It's my little adventure, a time to sniff around and stretch my legs. I'm a bit of a food critic, you see. I like my meals just so, but once I find something I love, I stick to it. Most of my day, you'll find me lounging around, a true couch potato. I'm house trained and well-behaved; I'm not the type to cause a fuss. I'm just looking for a loving home where I can spend my golden years. I promise to be your loyal companion, your quiet confidante, and your source of unconditional love. My adoption fee is $250 and includes the following: -Spay/neuter surgery -All current vaccinations -Microchip -FREE wellness exam through VCA Animal Hospitals -$25 gift voucher from our friends at My Pet Market For more information about me or to schedule a meet and greet appointment, please complete an adoption questionnaire.

Story
Garland is a 1 year old, 40 lb, Aussie / Collie blend who joined us as a stray. He's extremely intelligent, as well as being an active, high energy boy, typical for his age, who loves running and playing in our Scentral Park. He is easy to handle, and knows basic commands. He is treat motivated and learns quickly. Garland has a scar near his eye that the vet said is some sort of past trauma. If there are kids in the home, he'll be happiest with kids 12+. Garland is enjoying being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm, or you may email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Sunshine has been looking for a home for 278 DAYS!!! Sunshine was found in a storm drain in CA. This was the 3rd time he had ended up in the shelter. This time, his owners didn't want him back and he was going to be euthanized. Sunshine is the life of the party! Pony hopping up and down the yard, any chance he gets. He is a wildly intelligent dog. He is a big fan of other dogs, that are gentle with him. His energy is unlike anything we've ever felt. He's a very special boy. Someone described him as a "new soul" and that connected all the pieces, that's exactly what it feels like! He is almost completely deaf and has some vision impairment, more so affecting him at night. Sunshine has a smaller forebrain and cerebellum than most dogs, causing a slight wobble and unsteady gait. He just looks like he's had a few too many drinks! He's completely self-sufficient and can move and potty on his own. He loves to pickup stuffed animals and toss them around! His disability doesn't get in his way whatsoever! As far as we know, Sunny was born like this. He LOVES napping and being glued on to your lap on the couch. He's the sweetest and quietest boy we've only heard him bark less than 5 times and its the cutest noise you will ever hear. Pics don't do him justice, he's very small and loves to be carried around.
