Story
Name: Belle AKA BellaAge: 1 yearBreed: Border Collie XSize Medium: 40 poundsDogs: yes, I have 2Cats: yes I have 1Kids: I have 1 and 7 others that play at my house all the time! Hi! I’m Bella, and I am a very energetic young lady who loves to play with her stuffies, chase balls, run through the sprinkler and chill with my canine siblings! I am housetrained, crate-trained, enjoy a decent car ride here n there and going for daily walks with my foster mom. I love to give you little hints when I am thirsty by playing with my dishes, endlessly until you get it. If you don’t, don’t worry I’ll let you know by flipping them, carrying them around or picking them up and dropping them repeatedly just in case you missed it the first time – HINT HINT. I am good natured, but I do have a few quirks….I mean really who doesn’t? I do like to play with my dog buddies, but I get overwhelmed at dog parks and/or on leash, when going out for walks. I mean if I see a fellow pup across the street, no problem but when they come bounding over to me and stick their face in mine or in my…. well, you know, let’s just say I don’t like to be approached by dogs on leash; I like to decide when it’s time to make new friends and will do it on my terms. I also love to jump… on you, on your friends, on the counter, on the couch, on the bed, windows (in case you forgot about me), you name it, I’m jumping on it. My foster Mom and I are working on my manners, but this one is a tough one for me so if you have smaller children, I am probably not the one for you. I also don’t like it when people put their face in mine or scratch my head, ears… maybe but head is out. I prefer to get to know you better and even then, I get a little nervous but on the bright side: I do really like belly rubs or having my chest scratched or cuddling for about two minutes, then I’m out! Now my foster moms favorite quirk – I love to moan, loudly when getting settled in for my naps!!! I sound like a foghorn but she loves when I do it because it means I’m happy and content.I am looking for a family that will be patient and gentle with me as I venture into my teens and continue to learn how to be a great family memberIf you would like to meet me , please fill out the adoption application!

Story
Young Marcy, born October 2023 is a Mexican mix with some Australian cattle dog x lab (her sibling was DNA tested and basically had just about every breed you could list out). Marcy is playful and energetic and would like a home with a yard and a family who enjoys getting out to adventure – walking and swimming are things she enjoys. We think Marcy is part of a litter that was dumped near the sanctuary and taken in briefly by a neighbouring farm. When the farmer got up in the morning several of the dogs had already wandered off, including Marcy – her 4 siblings taken into the SPCA PV. A month or so later, she turned up crying at the sanctuary, having found them again. And she’s now safe in the sanctuary. Marcy is playful and friendly – she likes people and other dogs. She did spend some time in a foster home until there was room for her, so has some basic commands and house trained. Marcy has been tested with cats – she was curious and a bit confused, and eventually thought perhaps they might want to play. Marcy is excited around toys and bones and will sometimes growl so other dogs don’t take them away from her. She could really use the attention that a real home would afford her. Marcy is spayed, healthy and vaccinated. She is currently 24 lbs and may grow to 40lb. She has siblings living in Vancouver, Bellingham and Vancouver island and all are thriving. Flight availability to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle and Vancouver island (with less frequency), will resume in fall and she’d love to have a foster or forever home to give her this wonderful chance. If you think she might be a fit for you, write us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com and tell us a little about yourself, or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyhugj-VqtY
