Story
Goldie is an approximately 30-35lb sweetheart looking for a second chance after his owner passed away. He prefers to be where the people are and can be a bit of a brat in his crate. He will shred his bed and flip his water bucket to where he has to be let out. He would do best in a home where he can have a stay-at-home person due to his anxiety when left alone. He is very sweet with people and other animals, he is just used to having a person present to love at all times.

Story
Meet Peanut Butter! We call him Nutty for short, and boy, does he live up to it! He’s a furry little 25lb. bulldozer of cuteness who gets the zoomies just because he loves his humans so much that he can’t contain it. He’s about 5 years old, confident, silly, curious, full of energy, and a shameless cuddle bug. He would love nothing more than to be in your personal space 24 hours a day, unless he can jump the fence and go exploring, because that’s his second-favorite thing in the whole world. He is cat-friendly, but must be reminded to be gentle with them. He has not been very dog-friendly so far. He needs a forever home with a large fenced yard and some firm training. Once you belong to him, he’ll show you the kind of devotion you never knew you’d been living without!Interested in adoption? Story
Graciela (Gracie to her friends) is a beautiful baby girl with some truly interesting features. Some say she looks a little Alien, some say a little supermodel, a touch of gazelle, if you will. How much of Gracie is a cocker spaniel?? Your guess is as good as ours, but we can tell you that her DNA test is pending. Regardless of what it reveals, she’s a doll and a half. Gracie has about 2 minutes of shyness (perhaps less), and then she’s alllll about the kissing. She's incredibly affectionate and LOVES to snuggle up, preferably right on your chest. This sweetie is quite long-legged, but oh so petitely boned. She barely weighs a minute, so she’s easy to tuck up in your arms, something that she wholeheartedly approves of. She’s still a baby—not quite 5 months old and less than 15 pounds, so we don't think she's going to end up being a very big girl unless she gets into some magical growth kibble — our guess is she will remain cocker-sized. She is still every bit a puppy, so yes, that means that you should probably not leave her unattended around the Christmas decorations, as she tends to make toys out of pretty much everything. She loves all people and other dogs--cats are a bit of an unknown. We'd love to hear your guesses on what her mix might be, given all the merle coloring and jumbo ears!Interested in Adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application, which you can find on our website. If you have an already approved application, the best way to reach us is via email at woof@austinocckerrescue.org. Story
Adorable & Adoptable: Tiny Tim.Tiny Tim is 1 year old (going on 2 this February) and while his name says tiny, he’s really more of an average-size Tim with Disney-dog good looks. He’s a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle and give kisses. But Tim’s true passion in life? Sniffing.Put this boy outside and he is ON A MISSION. In another life, Tim probably would’ve been trained to hunt… but in this one, he’s just a very good boy with a very curious nose.A few important things to know about Tim:Tim loves you… but he also really, really, really loves to explore. Tim is an escape artist, and we mean Houdini-level. He’ll need a home with a backyard secured like Fort Knox, because once he’s loose, he’s FAST — and remember, he’s got sniffing to do. A family willing to provide structure, training, and boundaries is a must. He’s still young and learning, and with guidance, he’s going to be amazing.Tim does great with other dogs (and would probably thrive with a dog bestie to keep him in check), and has truly never met a stranger. He hasn’t been kid or cat tested yet, but he’d likely do well with older kids. Cats, however, will probably activate his chase mode. One more thing — Tim is currently heartworm positive. While that sounds scary, it is treatable, and CSRA covers 100% of his treatment. It’s not fun, but it’s manageable, and Tim absolutely deserves the chance to be healthy and thrive. Tim is cute, fun, affectionate, and full of life — he just needs the right home to help channel his curiosity and zest for adventure. So Santa, DO YOUR THING--Let’s get this good boy adopted so he can start his next (healthy and happy) chapter.Interested in adoption? Our adoptions require an approved application. THe application is on our website. Already approved applicants should email us at woof@austincockerrescue.org We adopt to only within the state of Texas.

Story
It's Brady! We'll start with how cute this 4-year-old, 22-pound love bug is. Brady came to us with some medical needs that were pretty easily fixed. He was quite discombobulated at first, but once he's comfortable in his new home, his personality shines. In short, we know he can be a nervous boy and will need to decompress after a change until he feels that all is well.He is quite sure that all is well in his foster home - so much so that he doesn’t want to leave. Want to try and convince him that there is a home in Austin with a fun dog (or dogs) for him to play with? He will need patience and time to learn to trust in his new home. Meet him and show him how!Brady is not only ridiculously handsome, but he is also very sweet, responsive, and eager to please. He LOVES his person and stays close. He is a world-class snuggle bug and loves to sleep with his foster mom and his foster brothers, with whom he gets along great. He is not destructive of his toys, or shoes (which he proudly carries around), or the house. Some outside experiences, like going to the vet, are not his fave. It's all about reading his cues and knowing how to manage them. Everything is new to him, so patience and a gentle, experienced hand will teach this sweet boy to trust--nothing more rewarding than winning that love!Interested in adopting Brady? Our adoptions require an approved application, which can be found on our website.
