Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Midge is a 12 year old 23 pound Cocker Spaniel that is eager for her forever home! She was a 'stray' dropped at a local shelter in the worst shape we have seen a dog in quite some time, covered in pee and poop with mats so thick and long we don't know how she was able to move. Midge was suffering from a UTI, ear infections, a mouth full of rotten teeth, and painful eyes that were difficult to look at and she couldn't even see with. It's been a long road of fixing this girl up, but she has been an absolute sweetheart the entire way! Now it's time for her to find a family of her own. Yes Midge is blind and her eyes were removed, but she navigates like a sighted dog would, alerts when she needs to go out and potty, adjusts to her surroundings and routine in less than 24 hours, and never makes a peep. Midge does have allergies that she gets a shot for every 6 weeks, and eats prescription food to ward off ear infections and allergy skin issues which have worked well for her. She only take Proin once a day due to periodically leaking urine from a terrible UTI she had for a long time which caused mild incontinence. Other than that she is completely housetrained and had one of the best personalities ever! She truly is a perfect senior Spaniel looking for a nice warm place with humans to love on her for the rest of her days. Won't you give her a chance? To adopt Midge, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, spay, dental, bilateral enucleation, and all the love you can handle! Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Jax is a fantastic 9 month old cocker spaniel mix. He is a very affectionate, playful boy who loves everyone. He is currently in a home with children (newborn to preschool), cats and other dogs, and he is great with all of them! Jax was part of an accidental litter. When the owners couldn't find him a home they dumped him on a family member, and that is who has him now, but can't keep him. He is mostly kept outdoors but is allowed inside too. He is not quite housetrained yet, but is working on it. It's hard with multiple pets, a newborn baby, and toddler/preschool kids. It's a busy household which makes it difficult to watch him for cues that he needs out to potty. In a home of his own, with a little focused attention, he will learn. Jax and his sister Jose have so much love to offer a family. They just need to find someone to give them a chance! He does have a very minor cherry eye (prolapsed tear duct) in one eye. It is not significant enough to do surgery and does not interfere with his vision, but does sometimes cause tears from that eye. There is no treatment needed at this time. Please see the last photo. Jax is fully vetted, about 40lbs, and ready to go to a new home now!*We have more pictures of him on our Facebook or you can email us and we can send more. This site only allows to put 4 pictures.
