Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 Josie is a 10 month old cocker spaniel mix. She is the sweetest, most fun loving girl who is great with everyone she meets. She is currently in a home with children (newborn to preschool), cats and other dogs, and she is great with all of them! Josie was part of an accidental litter. When the owners couldn't find her a home they dumped her on a family member, and that is who has her now, but can't keep her. She is mostly kept outdoors but is allowed inside too. She is not quite housetrained yet, but is working on it. It's hard with multiple pets, a newborn baby, and toddler/preschool kids. It's a busy household which makes it difficult to watch her for cues that she needs out to potty. In a home of her own, with a little focused attention, she will learn. Josie and her brother Jax have so much love to offer a family. They just need to find someone to give them a chance! She does a very minor cherry eye (prolapsed tear duct) in one eye. It is not bad enough to need surgery and does not interfere with her vision. There is no treatment needed at this time. Please see the last photo. :Josie is fully vetted and ready to go to a new home now!  *We have more pictures of her on our Facebook or you can email us and we can send more. This site only allows to put 4 pictures. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Teddy. I were rescued from a hoarding situation, and my rescuer asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I am friendly, but right now I am a bit nervous since I am not sure what is happening to me right now. I lived with a hoarder with a lot of other animals. My pictures show that I was not well cared for. I feel better now that I was groomed. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I tested positive for Lyme and Anaplasmosis disease, but I am taking medication for that. I do have a grade 3 of 6 heart murmur, but everything else is ok. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. Story
Meet Sausage! Sausage is a 10 month old cocker spaniel and aussie mix. She is a very intelligent and high energy working breed dog and will require a very active pet parent up to the task of providing her with ample physical and mental exercise. Herding breed experience is strongly preferred from adopters. As with all adopted dogs, Sausage will need a home where people are understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with her. She will need time to trust her new family before working on training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Herding dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org

Story
Simone is a 10 month old spayed female cockapoo who weighs 14 pounds. This adorable girl was rescued from living outside in a crate where she was dirty, matted and not cared for. She has since been shaved, started blossoming in our care and she has the best puppy eyes. Simone is a bit shy to start, but would love another dog in the home to follow around and we have even started to see her play. Story
Watson is a 4 month old neutered male cockapoo who weighs 18 pounds. He was rescued along with several other dogs from terrible conditions. These dogs had to be immediately shaved and they already feel so much better. They are a bit shy to start, but super sweet once they get to know you. They would thrive with another dog in the home and are starting to show us their playful side.
