Story
Hi friends, my name is Gladys 💛I’ve been in my foster home for about a month now (I arrived around Christmas!), and my foster mom says I’ve made huge strides. I spent my first five years as a breeding mom and wasn’t socialized, so when I arrived, the world outside my crate felt very big and very scary.Slowly, I’ve learned to trust. I know my foster mom is safe—especially since she brings the food—and I’m starting to ask for affection in my own gentle way. My favourite move is rolling over for belly rubs.Being outside is where I truly shine. I love wandering the yard, watching the other dogs play, and hanging out near the bushes where I feel safe. I’ve even worked up the courage to invite another dog to play for a few minutes! I’m also getting braver about coming back inside on my own—something that used to feel impossible.Routine helps me a lot. I don’t need someone home all day, but I do need time, patience, and kindness to build trust. Another calm dog could help boost my confidence, but the most important thing is bonding with my people. I think I might really enjoy couch cuddles or sleeping near you at night—I’m still discovering what I like. Some things are still scary for me, like the TV and new visitors. When that happens, I just need space and time. If people ignore me and let me sniff on my own terms, I feel much safer.Gladys’s Best Fit HomeGladys would thrive in a quiet, calm household with patient adopters who understand fearful dogs and are willing to celebrate small victories. A detached home with a secure backyard is important for her while she continues to build confidence, especially with leash walking. She would do best in an adult-only or senior home, with a mellow routine and gentle handling. A calm resident dog could be a nice confidence boost, but it’s not required. Most of all, Gladys needs people who will give her time, consistency, and reassurance as she learns the world is a safe place. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving companion who is quietly brave and gaining confidence every day—and you have a calm home and lifestyle—I think we should meet.Love,Gladys 🐾located in Belleville

Story
Maple is a 2.5-year-old French Brittany who packs a whole lot of charm into her perfect 25-pound frame. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Meatball,” and honestly…it fits. She’s adorable, goofy, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to her people. Maple LOVES car rides, plush toys, and curling up next to you for belly rubs. She didn’t get much freedom or enrichment in her early life and likely spent most of her time in a kennel, so she came to us needing a refresher on potty training and some basic house habits. She’s made steady progress but still needs a patient family willing to keep her routine consistent. She can be a bit curious and may check out items that aren’t technically “hers,” so keeping tempting things out of reach and offering plenty of dog-safe toys will set her up for success. Maple does well in her kennel when her people are out of the house. She may give a little protest bark at first (she just has to make sure you know she has notes), but she settles down and rests quietly once she realizes she’s safe. Maple is not a dog that can live with or closely interact with other dogs. Through training, she has made progress in calmly seeing dogs at a distance with positive reinforcement, but pushing those interactions too quickly can cause anxiety for her. For her comfort and safety, she must be an only dog, and a fenced-in yard (ideally privacy fenced) would suit her best so she can explore and enjoy the outdoors stress-free. She’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Maple has mastered “sit", and is working on more tricks, but needs a little patience since she isn’t very food motivated. Maple is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Now she’s just waiting for a family who sees how special she is and can give her the structure, love, and dog-free home she deserves. Maple is currently in foster care in Wisconsin and has an adoption donation fee of $400.  If you are interested in adopting her and have been approved to adopt, let your state coordinator know you are interested in her.  If you haven’t yet done so, please go to: https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application to fill out an application.  Your state coordinator will contact you and take you through the approval process.  If your application looks like a possible fit for her, your coordinator will contact Maple’s coordinator and continue the screening process. Maple’s state coordinator is Hallie Barbara. She can be reached at Minnesotabrittany@gmail.com for questions or inquires.   Thank you for considering this sweet girl.  December 15, 2025, 9:27 am

Story
Buddy is still waiting for his forever home and he has asked Santa to bring him a family of his own.  Could you be the one to make Buddy’s Christmas wish come true?   Read below to see why he could be your perfect match! Buddy Holly is a 9-year-old liver and white Brittany mix currently being fostered in Michigan. With his curious nature, playful spirit, and mellow side, he’s the perfect combination of fun and easygoing. He enjoys running around the yard with bursts of happy energy, then settling in for a nap or cuddle session. Walks are always on his list of favorites, and he proudly carries his beloved stuffies and squeaky toys everywhere he goes—they’re his treasures, and he’ll happily show them off to you. This sweet boy is both house trained and crate trained, which makes him a wonderful housemate. Buddy isn’t a fan of most other dogs and would prefer to be the only pet in his home, but he has so much love to give that you won’t feel like you’re missing out. While he hasn’t been tested with children, we think he’d be happiest in a calmer home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids who can respect his space and relaxed lifestyle. At about 52 pounds, Buddy is a solid, sturdy companion who will happily curl up next to you when it’s time to wind down. Though usually calm and easygoing, Buddy has a strong sense of responsibility when it comes to his home and family. He takes his role as the “alert dog” seriously and will let you know if something unusual is happening around the house. He also has a playful streak that can get him into a little mischief—like digging if he’s bored—so he’ll do best with some structured playtime, activities, or enrichment to keep his curious mind busy. What makes Buddy so special is his ability to balance joy and companionship. He’s playful without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and loyal through and through. He’s the kind of dog who will brighten your day with a silly toy parade, keep you company on a walk, and then settle in quietly at your side when it’s time to relax. Buddy Holly has been waiting patiently for his happily-ever-after. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves? Fill out an application at: https://nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here https://nbran.org/about/state-provincial-coordinators.   MI/Buddy UP adoption fee is $275.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated vetting and readying our Britts ready for adoption.   Don't live in MI or close by? No Problem!  NBRAN also has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Still have questions? Contact Michigan Coordinators Georgene Norris at georgenenbran@yahoo.com, 248-515-9963 or Diana Anderson at djmf1994@gmail.com, 734-755-2020.   December 9, 2025, 8:27 pm
