Story
Scarlet is currently fostered in Willoughby Ohio, and her adoption fee/donation is $300 Scarlet here, I am a 5 yr old cocker spaniel girl. My original owner passed away and now I am in this great rescue looking for my new forever home. My foster mom says I am a super sweet girl, but I also have typical “cocker quirks”. I am not perfect, I come with some baggage. I have separation anxiety and howl when left alone. I also can get nippy when my ears are messed with. The fact is…. I have had some chronic cocker ear infections, and they were pretty bad. My owner was unable to care for me at the time, so I was neglected in many ways. Because of my past ear issues, I have become very sensitive in this area. My foster mom can now put medicine in and clean my ears most of the time, but sometimes I still get “grouchy” when having my ears messed with, and need a muzzle. Yes, this is not one of my positive traits, however for a cocker spaniel like me, it’s not uncommon. I will need a cocker savvy owner for sure, someone who has experience with my breed. On the positive side, I am Very affectionate and Clingy, sometimes too clingy, like I want to be on top of you!!! I will sleep right up against you, and LOVE TO BE AFFECTIONATE!!! I get along with other dogs, and will fit into a home with another, but mostly, I LOVE MY PERSON!!! I am still working on house training, but have improved a lot since first coming into foster care. Please remember, I have needs, I need someone willing to give me the time needed to adjust. If you aren’t willing to put up with some “not so good” behaviors from me for a few weeks, that is OK, I get it, but please understand that I am not the dog for you if you can’t give me a proper adjustment period. If you are cocker savvy, and willing to work with me, I know we could bond and be great companions to each other, I LOVE TO BE LOVED AND WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Scarlet is spayed and up to date on vaccines If you would like to adopt Scarlet or would like more information on her, please fill out an adoption application We do not have a shelter, all rescues are in foster homes - Dogs are not shown without first being approved to adopt. Story
Beau is fostered in Mentor Oh and his adoption fee/donation is 150 Hi there, my name is B0-Bo, and I am a 12-13 yr old cocker spaniel boy. We are just guestimating his age per our vet, because we don’t know his history. He was originally found as a stray, so we can only do our best at telling his correct number in years. One thing we do know, is that he was not properly cared for most of his life. His ear canals are hardened, and closed up from such horrific infection. Our vet worked on his ears for months to finally get them free of infection. He is completely DEAF from the un-treated ear infections. He actually would do best if he could get the TECA surgery, however we have already spent thousands to get him cleared up. The cost of surgery for both ears is $5,000, and we tried to raise the funds to get it done, however we were unable to do it. We were able to get $1500 raised, and used it to treat the ears for the months it took to get them cleared. The problem with not getting the TECA surgery (REMOVING HIS EAR CANALS) done is that with closed canals, his infections can easily come back, and will continue to do so in the future. We are currently flushing his ears daily with Liquid Health K9 ear cleansing solution, and so far, he is still infection free, but we have to be very consistent with daily flushing. BoBo is such a happy go lucky dog, he lives for his ball, and will wear out your arm from throwing it to him all day if you let him. He is affectionate and loving, and enjoys spending time with his person. BoBo is also on thyroid medication, he was very overweight when we took him in, and found out he is hypo-thyroid. A few months on the meds and he lost all the excess weight. We would LOVE to find a retirement home for this boy, he is so good, and deserves to be loved and cared for. BoBo is neutered and up to date on vaccinations, as well as heartworm negative.
